Well here we are in Snowdonia again and nothing changes. We lost the trail we were supposed to be following and had to hop barbed wire and stone walls. I should comment that our losing the trail had nothing to do with incompetence on our part, it was the fault of overly aggressive cows that blocked our way. | ![]() |
![]() | Oh, and then there's the other thing that doesn't change... bad weather. I thought Wales was perpetually gray and dreary, but the first three hours of day two proved me wrong (read on). |
We had typical evening entertainment in the mountain hut. This is the cereal box game with Beccy showing us all how it's done. Actually I think she went out just one or two rounds after this... good leader, but not very flexible. | ![]() |
![]() | We went to climb the Welsh Matterhorn on Sunday morning and an amazing thing happened... the sky cleared and the SUN appeared! It was unbelievable. This is Ed and Beccy, catching some rays (a rare thing for the British). |
And the sun wasn't the first of the new things that I found that day, I discovered the Fellwanderers have some new blood. These are two freshers, Sarah and Tim. Sarah engages in something called mountain running, I'm not sure what that is exactly, but it sounds like hell on knee joints. | ![]() |
![]() | At the top of the Welsh Matterhorn we stopped to take in the amazing view and snack a bit. |
Our luck with the weather eventually faded and we had lunch under a dismal grey sky at this abandoned mining facility. | ![]() |
![]() | And where there are mining facilities, there are mines... this was good fun. |
The hat phenomena spreads. | ![]() |
