Ok so here we are, the intrepid adventurers posing in front of Cradle Mountain itself. On the day that we climbed it we managed to summit the ridge of the cradle just as a cloud dropped down on top of us. Making the climb was a bit tough as there really was no proper trail to the top, it was mostly just bouldering. |  |
 | This is lake, called crater lake sits at the base of cradle mountain itself. We didn't have a chance to spend much time here though since we had to make it about twelve kilometres away from the trailhead before we could camp or find a hut. Kind of annoying actually since there was so much to see at this end of the park. |
The slope to the left is the foot of cradle mountain the bluff in the distance is Barn Bluff. I took this as we finished our cradle run. We had just thrown on our rucksacks and were marching our way over to Barn to summit that monster too. Yes, we were out of our minds and should never have done these two peaks in a single day. |  |
 | Furry, pouched, vermin. Rather cute critters but still annoying to have crawling around your gear in the middle of the night. My bag managed to survive all attempts these little fellows made to open it, Pete, on the other hand, wasn't quite as lucky. |

At least our climb up Barn was cloud free, we had a really nice view of the horrid lake and bog we would wander through the following day. Of course, from this view point all looked quite lovely. |  |
 | The huts were great. This was Waterfall Hut (aptly named for the waterfall not far beyond its back doors). |
There were wallaby's hopping around all around this hut. I got to see a mother with her joey as I was brushing my teeth just before bed, unforgetable. |  |
