I write in my adventurelog about arriving in these stations at the crack of dawn all the time, but I figured I would take a photo to capture the freezing emptiness on film.

Ah, Koln at 6am. Lovely but cold.

Being intrepid fellwanderers Chris and I made our way north and took a long stroll along the Rhone. Took this shot from the top of an icy bridge in the north of Koln. In the distance you can see the outline of Koln's cathedral.

Nichole met up with us around noon and suggested that we go to this marvelous beergarden. Lots of beer (duh) and fantastic weiner-schnitzel (sp?).

The Koln chocolate museum, kinda like a walk through Willy Wonka World. Behind us is a chocolate fountain!

I took this just before we left for Aachen, the Dom (Koln's cathedral) is one of the few German cathedral to survive the bombings of World War II.

On sunday, Caroline, Chris, and I went wandering around Aachen after a pleasant breakfast at Chris's flat. I have no idea what that dog is doing behind Caroline, looks kind of surreal to me.
