In 1948 the OA, recognized as the BSA's national brotherhood of honor campers, became an official part of the camping program of the Boy Scouts of America.
The Order is a thing of the spirit rather than of mechanics, organizational, operational procedures, and all that go with them are necessary in any large and growing movement, but they are not what counts in the end. The things of the spirit are what count:
To recognize those Scout who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.
To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit.
To promote Scout camping.
To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.
In the past, Paldani Chapter has been 1998 Best-All-Around-Chapter in our lodge, and has also been instrumental in the success our lodge has on the council and section levels. In the past few years, Paldani has helped the Joseph Aaron Abbott Campership Fund to over $200 per year in donations, has run the concessions stand at the SFC Trailblazer Adventure Program, and has created the Scoutmaster's Dinner, an dinner for all Seminole District Scoutmasters honoring their help and success in making the district, and therefore Paldani, run smoothly.
