...forgive my innocence...
yet another collection of the ramblings of a college freshman
Welcome Class of 2010!

yeah! oh-ten!

lol.

just kidding everyone

its one-oh! i guess... i still like oh ten

so, in case you didn't know, i moved to Redlands yesterday.

We got to campus and checked in around 9:30. We then went over to Merriam hall, where I'm living, where I found out that I had been switched into a double! And they had no idea who my roomate was gonna be! So that was exciting. I guess you could say that i got the good side of the room, because i had first pick. There is a sink in the room, so her side is way crowded. we have to figure out how to move something, because she can't really even sit at her desk. I also have a bookshelf hanging on the wall over my desk, while she doesn't. There's a good amount of closet space and drawers, 3 mirrors in the room, and i have bed risers so there are drawers underneath. the floor is cold tile, but i think we're going to get a rug to fix that. Jessie (my roommate) is really sweet. So far we're getting along great. She's from Wyoming, and her boyfriend from home is also here going to school. He's really nice too. so, overall, i'm happy.

Now, in case you hadn't heard, my car is broken (combustion problems), my laptop is broken (i spilled kool-aid on the keyboard), and my ipod is broken (again.) so, thats kinda frustrating. i can't come home to see anyone, i can't go to the store, i can't go sit outside and go on the computer (not that i have the time) and i can't listen to music without other people hearing it (i dont even have headphones). so those are pretty much the only negatives, minus the fact that I MISS EVERYONE SO MUCH!

but on a happier note, i guess, i did pretty decent on my spanish placement test, and placed into 2nd year. i wasn't going to take spanish, but i think it'll be easier. so i dunno. we start advising tomorrow, but my session isnt til saturday at 11:45 and i register for classes at 2. so i'll let everyone know how that goes after i do it. oh, theres one class, a government class, that i'm going to try to take with my friend destiney, who is currently a senior here. so i hope i can get into that one. it'll be fun.

speaking of destiney, she lives right down the street and so has been hanging out with me since i got here. we hung out for a little while last night, and had lunch and dinner out today. so it feels better that i have someone to hang out with, because amanda (my friend from centennial) is uber-social and i dont see her or talk to her much.

so, i'll post more later. love you all!

Dear Mary,
Sounds like you really got thrown into the middle of college life with lots of stuff to deal with!! Well, "back when I was a kid"...(yeah right Grandma) I went 250 miles from home, no car, no music (shared a record player with the floor), no computer (lots of paper and pens) and we had to walk everywhere, for blocks. But that was then, this is now...and it's hard to have all the stuff you are used to, not performing well. But in time, I'm sure, it will all get fixed. In the meantime, make new friends and explore the place. Sending you lots of love and thanks for sharing with us :)
