...forgive my innocence...
yet another collection of the ramblings of a college freshman
Seventh Inning Stretch

Ok, I know this sounds crazy. Its weird for me to even type it. But my freshman year of college is winding down! Already! I know its only February, but thanks to a weird private school schedule, its midterm time already. Which means I have Spring Break in 1 week. Which means the year is 3/4 of the way over.

Oh.

My.

Gosh.

I Know, right? sheesh! It's gone by so fast!

So, I wanted to update you all on my schedule, if you're interested.  I ended up not taking University Choir this year. I decided I wanted to take it easy, and I'm very glad I did. I also dropped my Issues in Modern Religion class. I'm not quite sure why I did it, because it was a really interesting class. I guess the timing was just wrong. It being an hour after aerobics doesn't leave time for a shower AND lunch. Whatever the reason, it has greatly simplified my life.

Also, dropping that class made my schedule more open for a day job. I just got hired as an intern in the Planning Dept. for the City of Yucaipa (about 15 min down the freeway). I start next Tuesday! I'll be working 2 or 3 days a week, making 8.25 an hour. Its not a lot, but its WAY better than nothing. Also, if I like it, then theres a good chance that I can have a spot waiting for me next year.

My main announcement however is that I am now the Secretary/Treasurer of out Habitat for Humanity chapter on campus! The chapter hasn't been active for 3 or 4 years, so we are trying to get it started back up. We hope to have our first build in May, so I might have to stick around school for an extra month. Its cool though, I need the Community Service Credits.

So thats pretty much all that is new for me. I'm probably going to get really busy, really soon. Classes are going good for now. I'm still not quite in the swing of things, even though I'm halfway through the semester. I think that cruise took more out of me than I thought it would! But hopefully the second half will be easier than the first. I'm definitely going to use Spring Break as a chance to rest and catch back up with the real world. :)

Alrighty, thats my update. Hope to hear from you all/See you all soon!

Love,

     ♥ Mary
