...forgive my innocence...
yet another collection of the ramblings of a college freshman
It's been a long time...

So, I'm posting mostly to apologize to all of you who have asked for updates, but have been greeted only by my silence.

The "thick of it" finally hit a few weeks ago, about the time that probably should have updated everyone. Since then, I have been working almost non-stop, minus a few trips home for some distraction. I have had midterms, exams, projects, papers, grading, registration for next semester, illness, rehearsals, and numerous other things, all happening all at once!

Oh, how boring life would be without the chaos...

Anyways. I just wanted to stop in and let you all know that I am doing great! (despite the lack of sleep). I'm actually in the middle of rewriting a research paper that is due in about 12.5 hours, but I needed a break. Classes are going well, I'm doing my best to keep up, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it. We're already starting to talk about finals, which is really exciting for me! My first semseter of college is winding down!

In case any of you were wondering, I'm pretty sure I've chosen a major. It's most likely going to be Computer Science (I'm also considering a minor in art). Now, I've been considering transferring to a different school to try and find a better computer science program. However, I think that I've decided to stay here. Not only will it be a lot simpler, I have a great financial Aid package, and my advisor recommended me for an Honors program as well. So, things are finally starting to make sense!

As I mentioned above, I have been dealing with registering for spring classes. I actually just finally registered today. I registered for 18 units again, but I'm planning on hanging on to all of my classes this time, because none of them have a writing requirement, which is what is causing most of my headaches this semester. My schedule is as follows:

MWF 9:30-10:50 CS 111-01

Data, File Structures, and Object-Oriented Programming

MWF 11:00-12:20 MUSI 111-01

          University Choir

MW 1:00-2:20 GOVT 111-03

          American National Government and Politics

MW 2:30-3:50 PSYC 100-04

          Intro to Psychology

TTH 11:00-11:50 PEAC oFL-01

          Low Impact Aerobics

TTH 1:00-2:20 REL 101-01

          Issues in Modern Religion

Despite the load, this is actually a pretty ideal schedule. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are pretty easy, lots of time to do work, and lots of "thinking" classes. I'm going to call the spring semester "Stimulating the Mind and Body." Haha. I just came up with that right now.

I'm expecting lots of readings, and responses, and probably some writing, as it is inevitable with this kind of course. I'm also looking forward to expanding my mind and my opinions on many different issues, which is very exciting.

On a totally unrelated note...

    I'm So Excited For Christmas!!!!

I'm already planning what to make for everyone. And trying to figure out how to do it on my all to limited budget. I'm considering having a Christmas party for friends, and I'm also planning on doing a TON of baking. I've been so deprived of cooking here at school. The food isn't bad, mind you, but its not homemade. And I find baking to be very therapeutic. Plus, everyone else loves baked goods, so its a plus on both sides. So those are my holiday plans. Make and Bake! Hooray! I soooooo can't wait.

Well, I REALLY need to get back to this paper. I've got a good start on the reorganization of my previous madness, but I've still got a long road ahead of me.

Oh, one more thing before I go, sometime after Thanksgiving I'll probably be posting all of my electronic music projects on my site, under music. Some of it is very interesting, and I'll be glad to give you a brief summary of the processes that I used to compose it. But that is still to come. I promise I'll try to keep you all more updated!
