| Paladin Political System The Paladins of Falador utilize a modified democratic system based partially off the ideals of the U.S. Senate and the British Parlement. After modification this is the system we have implemented to run the clan. The first council members will be installed unilaterally, any council vacancies or end of term will then be put to the electoral process. Elections The five seats in the main leadership positions (Holy Paladin, Minister of Finance, Master Artisan, Legion Commander, and Paladin Councillor) will be decided by majority vote of clan member thru an electoral system. During the election period, each Paladin will have one vote to cast for who they believe is the best candidate for the position. Council members are not eligable to vote during general elections. Once the electoral period has expired the votes will be counted by a council member not up for election during that period. The count will then be varified with the other council members not up that period. Once the count has been varified the winner will be announced and installment date set. The winner will take the responsibilities of the council member that they are replacing. Example: If they ran against the Master Artisan and won, they would become the Master Artisan. In the event of a tie, the council members not up for that electoral period will vote to break the tie. If the vote remains deadlocked after council vote, a tie breaker vote between the tied candidates will take place. Once term limits are set they will be added to this section along with election periods. Should a vacancy occur on the council during a term of service, one of the department heads of that division will be promoted to fill the remaining term for that council position. The council will nominate the replacement and it must be approved by the Holy Paladin. Duties of the Council The Council of Noble Paladins act as the law making and judiciary branch of the clan. They are responsible for the day to day operations of the clan as a whole. They are responsible to write and adopt new laws and regulations for the clan. They also provide as court to deal with members who violate Paladin rules or code. Each member of the Council will have distinct responsabilities in addition to their council duties. The council members are the leaders of the clan and are expected to lead according to the Code established within the clan. All council members report directly to the Holy Paladin in regards to their duties. The distinct duties of the council members will be outlined below: Minister of Finance- This council member will be responsible for overseeing the clan bank, supply stockpiles, and general financial issues within the clan. The minister will oversee any trade commerce transactions and will be required to draw up any large scale contracts for guild provided materials. All contracts are to be reviewed by the council and must be approved by the Holy Paladin. Master Artisan- The Master Artisan oversees all guild operations and is responsible for making sure that the guilds have ample supplies to achieve goals or meet a production goal. This council member works in close conjunction with the Minister of Finance to provide for the clans financial stability. Legion Commander- The Legion Commander is the military leader of the Paladins standing force. They are responsible for making sure that the legion is supplied with needed goods and will oversee the intake of goods from planned clan military events. The Legion Commander must be a skilled tactician and have a natural leadership ability. Paladin Councillor- The Paladin Councillor is a member drawn from the Paladins at Large pool and represents the common Paladin. The Paladin Councillor is responsable for recruitment, overseeing recruits and initiants, and is automatically advanced to Paladin of the Second Class.
