Her eyes peered at me as she seemed to be studying me, quietly, always keeping her suspicious gaze upon me. I could tell she did not trust my words, but what more could I possibly say in order to convince her? As the silence got to a suspensful peak, I awaited unpatiently for her to say something. Even a scream or a yell would have sufisted as it was better than leaving me guessing the outcome. An imagination could be a very dangerous thing at times like these. Misato's mouth suddenly began to open. This is it, I thought. But interrupting her oncoming verbal attack, the door to my/Asuka's room opened. Obviously unaware that Misato was up, we stared at Asuka as she made her way out of the room, heading towards me. Her gaze in the direction of her old room, probably feeling weird knowning that she wasn't sleeping in it anymore, she failed to notice that she was walking direcly towards the same ackward situation I had found myself in. "Goodmorning Asuka." "Huh?! What?! Uh, g-gueten morgen Misato-san!" Her reply had a very nervous tone and her face had an expression of surprise. Her smiled quievered faintly, as seeing Misato up had shocked her. "So you and Shinji slept together last night?" "We did not?! What kind of lies has this baka been telling you?!" "So you deny sleeping in the same room?" "...Ooooooh, well, you see, yes, he did sleep in his room, as did I, but we didn't sleep 'together'. Misato-san, you have to precise these sort of things!" Both Misato and I had a huge sweatdrop as she explained in a MUCH calmer tone that she thought Misato had meant something else. "Well, at least you didn't go that far, but nonethless, I dislike the idea of you two sleeping in the same room." "Like I would even let a pervert like *THAT* touch me!" "Letting him sleep near you was already a big step Asuka! You changed, and I don't know if I should beleive that." "What exacly are you trying to say?!" "That since the year you were gone, you've grown soft on Shinji." "...-Incredibly large amount of German cursing-" This scene was unravelling right beneath my eyes. Parts of it I felt offended by, but most I felt that my opinion didn't even matter. I felt rather excluded as the two women battled on. Frightened a bit by their reaction, I didn't involve myself, and kept my mouth shout, as I did with Touji and Kensuke. But soon, Asuka had made the shouting stop by rushing off into 'her' room, fuming and cursing. Misato only rolled her eyes and sighed before heading into her room as well, which ended up leaving me alone again, but this time, wide awake. Just then, Rei popped up from behind her door, fully dressed in her school uniform, I stared at her without saying a word as she returned the stare blankly. "Good morning Shinji-kun...Asuka and Misato's words woke me up, what was it all about..?" "Nothing important really...but I hope its settled now." "I see..." "Could you tell me what time it is?" "Time to set off for school or we will be late..." "And we haven't even eaten yet?! Damn it...well, thank you Rei-chan." "Your welcome." "I'll get changed and we can start walking to get to school." "Very well." I walked over to my room, the covers rapped around my waist, and knocked on the door a few times. No one answered, but the noise of the door unlocking was heard. I grasped the knob and turned it, putting light pressure on the door for it to open. I peeked inside, and seeing that Asuka was fully dressed, looking beautiful in her school uniform, I stepped in to get my clothes as well. "Rei is waiting for us." "...I'm ready." "Alright, if you could join her, I'll be out in a sec." "Ok...oh and Shinji." "Yes?" "Did it make you feel uncomfortable sleeping in the same room as me?" "No...I actually slept quite well...I, uh, had a nice dream too." She blushed slightly. I had planted that last comment in my phrase hoping to cause a reaction of some kind, and so it did. Perhaps this was the time to discuss it as we found ourselves alone in my room once again. "How about you..?" "I, hum, I guess you could call it a good dream." "I don't remember much about mine though...which is good enough for me...how about you, do you remember what it was about?" "Yes, parts of it anyway. But not that it matters, I'll be outside with Rei, hurry up ok?" I nodded in acceptance as she made her way out of the room, closing the door shut behind her. I knew getting her to talk about her dream wasn't going to be easy, but you would think that if it was about me, she would act a bit different? Nah, this is Asuka, she was used to covering up her emotions. Thinking about this, I took off my night clothes and put on my school ones. First my pants, and then my shirt, hurrying as much as I possibly could. "Hurry up baka Shinji! We're already late!!" "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I rushed out of the room to join the girls at the exit. We all said goodbye to Misato at the same time and off we were to school, as much as I hated it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Hey Kensuke! Hey Touji!" "Hello Shinji, how's it going?" "I'm at school Touji, how do you think?" "Yeah, I know how you fee--" "Asuka-san!" "Hikari-san!" "Oh no, don't tell me the demon is back..." "Asuka its so good to see you, how long have you been here?" "I only arrived yesterday. I would have come to see you, but I had to arrange all my stuff to move in again!" "So your still staying with Misato?" "For now...but I'm going to find a new place, I don't think there's enough room for another person in that appartement." "There's no need for that Asuka!" Having heard the two lady's conversation, I decided to interrupte for once. I didn't want Asuka to leave again, not after she had just arrived. I missed her too much, and wanted her near me. "Its alright Shinji, I don't want to cause trouble..." "The Demon not wanting to cause trouble? That's a BIG surprise." "Shut it Touji!" Hikari's voice made Touji back off, which didn't surprise me. The one thing that was really shocking was that Asuka wasn't the one who said it! I looked at her and she was blushing?! She took a couple of steps back and turned her face around. I wondered what she was blushing about. "Don't you have anything to say to me Asuka?" "..." "Or did they finally teach you some matters?" "Lay off Touji!" "Since when do you stick up for this demon Shinji? I thought she fought her own battles." "Yeah, well..." Just then, the sensei walked in as we all took our seats. Hikari did her usual drill as class rep. and Asuka kept looking away from us. Five minutes after the teacher had started talking, I was already day-dreaming, my hands holding my chin and my eyes staring blankly in front of me. The only thing that kept people from thinking I was asleep was my opened eyes. "Shinji..." I felt a soft touch on my shoulder. "Asuka?" "No...its Rei..." "Oh, sorry." "Its alright, I just thought you should start paying a little attention, Hikari and Sensei are starting to realise your phasing out." "Alright, thank you Rei-kun." "Your welcome." I knew I had to stay awake, but it was so hard! I turned to look at Asuka. She was so beautiful. She was so grown up. Yes, I know it had only been a bit over a year, but she had grown nonetheless. Her body was even more perfecly shaped than before, and the way her hair ran down the curves of her chest and bak almost made me drool in the middle of class. Suddenly, a pair of fingers snapped in front of my face as I quickly jerked back in my seat. "C'mon Shinji, its time for lunch!" "Huh? Oh, sure Kensuke." "What were you staring at that was so interresting?" I blushed a deep red at the question. "I, uh, nothing much." "Nothing much huh? Looked like you were staring at Asuka to me." "W-What? Why would you think that?" "Because you were staring in her direction with a weird smile on your face." "Well, I wasn't." "Alright, whatever you say. I just hope you don't go in denial about it like Touji does with Hikari." "Yeah, well I won't." "Good, now let's eat." "Eat? Lunch? My lunch! Dammit, I forgot my lunch!" "Don't worry, I figured a baka like you would, so I brought it for you. Here you go." I looked up to see Asuka handing me what I figured was my lunch. I blushed slightly and took it in my hands. "T-Thank you Asuka." "No problem...hum, is Touji eating with you?" "No, he's probably out with Hikari. Why? Didn't feel like being harrased while eating?" There she went, blushing again, but this time even more. "Something like that, yes. Mind if I eat with you guys?" "N-Not at all. You can come to Rei." I gestured for both girls to take a seat. Asuka next to me, and Rei next to Kensuke. Once placed, we all took our lunchs out and began eating. I noticed that whenever Touji was mentioned, she seemed to blush. I thought she hated him? What could have possibly happened to her to make her blush so easily at the mere sight of him? And why wasn't she acting like that with me..? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Author's Little Note: Is it still boring? I hope not, I'm working real hard on it, so at least give me that much! I'm seriously trying my best, beleive it or not! I'm also trying to download some episodes. Anyway, I hope Asuka's dream is at least intriguing you...I wish I could write it down here, but you'll have to wait until I finish the Asuka version for it!!! I'm also trying to put comedy in this, which I think is not working out very well, but I'm gonna keep at it, and hopefully make it better as I re-read it a few hundred times :) (seriously).
