Washing before painting.

Always clean the area to be painted thoroughly. This is especially true for surfaces to be painted with Water Base or Oil Base enamels, such as; Kitchens, Bathrooms, Painted Cabinets, Doors and Casings, Laundry Rooms etc.
TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) is an excellent product for removing grease, grime stains, hairspray and fingerprints. Be sure to follow the instructions on the TSP box or bag. RINSE all areas where TSP is applied. Use rubber gloves,  eye protection and always cover surfaces that might get splattered while cleaning (floors, countertops, appliances etc.) Use a large sponge for cleaning ceilings, walls and woodwork. Use soft rags to dry thoroughly after rinsing. Remember - a clean surface will make the difference in so many ways. The paint will cover better, last much longer and you will have a professional finish.  Good Luck!!!
