| We hope you will check out some of the links listed here. You will find a wealth of information on several different registries, horse coat color genetics, other horsey/pony sites, training, showing... If you find something that doesn't work please let us know, and if you would like to do a link exchange please contact us. We believe that anyone breeding ponies/horses, particularly pintos/paints, should be informed about coat color genetics as there are issues such as Overo Lethal White syndrome associated with breeding them. We have an obligation to make informed decisions when it comes to breeding such paints/pintos. There are alot of out of date/old myths surrounding such breeding. There are endless sites on the internet to get information from, but I would like to suggest a couple in particular that are the better ones. Of course the APHA site has some good info., but some of it doesn't go into enough detail or hasn't kept up with all of the most current genetic info. out there. Simply one of the best sites I have found to explain all this confusing genetic info. is the IRC (INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY OF COLORED HORSES), once into the site you will find the color key section, then an article by Janet Peircy titled The Colorful World of Paints and Pintos. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, if I can't answer them for you I will find out or refer you to others who can. Thanks for looking. |
