"Firefight" by Charley Smith

It was the second game of the day; we were playing on the "Tire Field". My team(blue) had the high-ground advantage this time. Anyway, I had positioned myself in a "bunker", lying down and waiting for a victim. I was kind of hidden by some dense brush...hidden from the majority of the playing field. Somehow, a guy from the red team[Mr. Jones] managed to get in a bunker about thirty feet in front of me. We engaged in a massive firefight for what seemed like ten minutes. There were some saplings and small trees around, so paint was hitting them and flying everywhere. We shot each other multiple times, but they all bounced off. At one point, I thought I had nailed him, and saw him reaching for his barrel plug. Actually, he was reloading....out in the open! I didn't realize it until it was too late -- I could've picked him off so easily! The fight resumed and, with help from another red guy, I got  eliminated. It was a great battle, though.
