Nexium (Also known as the purple pill) inhibits the millions of acid pumps in your stomach from creating acid. Nexium turns off some of these pumps, but leaves some on to allow for food digestion. Nexium can help heal the damage caused by acid reflux disease.

Nexium Side Effects: Headache, diarrhea, nausea, gas, stomach pain, constipation, dry mouth, chest pain, severe stomach pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, black stool, yellowing of eyes or skin, signs of Vitamin B-12 deficiency, unusual weakness, sore tongue, numbness or tingling of hands and feet.



Prilosec OTC:
the first over the counter pill to deal with acid reflux as a proton pump inhibitor. It is much like Nexium in what it claims to do, but is available with a prescription. You take one pill a day to relieve heartburn and some acid reflux symptoms.

Prilosec OTC Side Effects: Constipation, cough, dizziness, back pain. Signs of vitamin B12 deficiancy, unusual weakness, sore tongue, numbness or tingling of hands or feet. rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.



Aciphex: (Rabeprazole Delayed Release Oral):
blocks acid production in the stomach. It is known as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is used to treat acid related stomach probelms.

Side Effects Of Aciphex: Uncommon headache may occur, if this worsens contact a doctor immediatly. Unusual weakness, sore tongue, numbness or tingling of the hands and or feet, rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing!



Axid Oral: Used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from coming back. This is also used to treat stomach and esophagus problems. (Acid Reflux/GERD)

Axid Oral Side Effects: Headache, dizziness, or diarrhea may occur. Breast swelling, confusion or soreness in males. Easy bruising or bleeding, signs of infection, fever, cough, trouble breathing, fast pounding heartbeat, unusual tiredness, persistant nausea, severe stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing eyes, or skin.



Basaljel Oral Uses: Aluminum carbonate is an antacid. It neutralizes and reduces stomach acid. It is used to treat heartburn and ulcers.

Basaljel Oral Side Effects:
Loss of appetite and constipation may occur. coffee-ground vomit, dark/tar like stool.



Pepcid: used to treat ulcers and stomach and throat problems caused by too much acid.

Pepcid Side Effects: headache, constipation, diarrhea, or dizziness, easy bruising/bleeding, fast/slow/mood changes, restlessness, confusion, depression, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, seizure, severe stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing skin or eyes. Rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness or trouble breathing.
