Chairperson Mrs. Jana Thapa welcomed everyone at the meeting.

She stated that PAHAD successfully hosted Pestalozzi Reunion 2007 in Nagarkot. She thanked everyone for their help and cooperation and appreciated the teamwork. The

PAHAD Mela was also a great success and she expressed gratitude on behalf of PAHAD to Major Rai, Major Mallal and Mrs. Mishra Rai and her team for all their hard work. In spite of the Mela coinciding with the Pestalozzi Reunion, it was a huge success.

Another project during the Reunion was the publication and launching of Glimpse II and Mrs Thapa thanked Mr Ram Babu Subedi, Mr Hikmat Khadka and Mr Bhaba Thami for their hard work.

She informed the AGM that Executive Committee selected four regular scholars and Nepal Investment Bank agreed to sponsor 5 scholars for up to grade 12. She said that it was  good news for PAHAD.

POCT scholars were selected by POCT Coordinator, Bhaba Thami and EC member, Mr. Rambabu Subedi.

PAHAD also helped in the pre-selection of PCVS scholars.

Mrs Thapa felt that the Pestalozzi family had grown. She gave the examples of the success of the Pestalozzi alumni and expressed the view  that our PAHAD scholars will be able to flourish with the guidance of these role models.

She informed the meeting that two PAHAD scholars had passed SLC this year. One of them, Ravi Purkoti has already applied for financial assistance and the Committee has decided to help him. The members are trying to track down the other scholar Belkumari Thapa also.

She then informed the meeting that this year's reunion would be held in Switzerland in the first week of June 2008 and the General Secretary would talk more on this.

She concluded by saying that  PAHAD has to find ways to raise funds. She also requested members to come forward to help in the Executive Committee.

3.      Approval of Previous AGM's Minutes

PAHAD Secretary, Mr Bhaba Thami read out the main points of the minutes of AGM 2006. The AGM approved them.

4.      Secretary's Report

Secrertary presented the annual report. It is attached as annex 1.

Poonam Rai, former EC member, inquired about the scholars being taken in various grades. She asked whether PAHAD had changed the policy of taking the children in grade four. The chairperson, Mrs. J. Thapa answered that the policy was not changed but due to the unavailability of applicants, the committee had had to select the scholars from other grades. It was also pointed out that AGM 2006 had had given the committee permission to be flexible with the grades that scholars were being selected from.

Poonam also raised the issue of the loan repayment towards the publication of Glimpse. She felt strongly that PAHAD money should be used only for educational purposes. She was reassured that the loan would be paid back.
