In Gates of Paradise, Annie Stonewall and Luke Casteel Jr. reached their 18th birthday.  Up until then, Annie and Luke both had hopes of going to the infamous Farthinggale Manor, the place where Heaven and Logan lived after they got married.  No one, but Heaven, Logan, and Fanny new the truth of Heaven's heritage.  A couple weeks after Annie and Luke's birthday, Fanny had her 40th birthday party.  Logan had a little too much to drink and Fanny went back into her habits of infuriatiing Heaven. Heaven told Logan that is was time for them to leave, for if they stayed any longer, he would be in no condition to drive.  It started raining and the roads were very slippery.  Logan thought that he could handle it, but he did not.  There was a head-on collision and No one, but Annie came out alive.
Annie was in a coma for about 4 days and woke up to see an attractive older man, Tony Tatterton.  Tony tried to compensate with Heaven, by trying to take care of Annie's needs.  He flew her to Farthy and paid for the best live-in nurse possible.  Annie did not see anything wrong with it at first, until wierd occurances began.  Tony became not distant, but started to hallucinate about Leigh, Heaven, and Jillian.  He even convinced Annie to dye her hair the same shade as Leigh, Jillian, and the color that Heaven dyed her hair: Silvery Blond.  Of Course that made him even more mesmerized by the sight of her.  Annie did not know what to do, for she was far away from Winnerow and she was paralyzed.  She was confined to a wheel chair, due to the trauma to her spine.
One day, she decided to wheel herself through the maze, where she ran into a "groundskeeper."  She finally realized that the groundskeeper was actually, Tony's presumed dead brother, Troy.  Troy and Annie began a secret friendship and he eventually became her savior from Tony's sick and twisted mind.  Tony eventually tried to repeat the same thing that he did to Heaven.  Of course, he did not succeed again.  She tried to talk to Drake about all of this, but he was too mesmerized by Tony's wealth and his new position with the Winnerow Toy Factory.  Then one day, she overheard a familiar voice: Luke and Fanny.  Tony tried to push them away, but they were too persistent.  Fanny and Logan decided to take Annie home, where she belongs and Tony tried to stop them.  He admitted that he was Annie's grandfather and she belongs to him, but Fanny would not hear of it.  It turns out that Troy contacted Fanny and told her to come get Annie and rescue her from Tony's warped mind.
As soon as they arrived back in Winnerow, Annie dyed her hair back to her original color, hers and her mother's beautiful black hair.  Drake came back to the house he and Annie were raised in and accused Luke of messing around with Annie's future.  Annie got frustrated and ended up passing out, due to the stress.  She finally was able to practice walking and eventually was able to get rid of the wheel chair.  She used a walker and then a cane for a while.
Annie received a phone from a Mr. Tatterton, which everyone believed it was Tony calling to beg for her forgiveness.  However, it was Troy informing Annie of Tony's death.  Fanny did not want Annie to go to the funeral, for no one actually knew that Tony was her grandfather, but she did.  She thought that would have been what Heaven would have wanted.  Luke came back from Harvard and accompanied Annie to the funeral.  Drake was there and informed them about Troy.  Annie and Luke had to laugh, for if Drake would have attempted to listen, instead of assume, Annie would have told him about how Luke and Fanny learned about Annie's "treatment" at Farthy.  After the funeral, Troy wanted to have a private conversation with Annie and Logan.  Even they recently learned that they were not cousins, but they were still half-brother and sister.  That's what they thought, until Troy's revelation about him and Heaven.  He knew that Heaven would not have minded, so he told them the truth: Annie was not Logan's biological daughter , she was actually Troy and Heaven's daughter.  It turns out that Annie and Luke were stepbrother and sister.  Troy told them, for he did not want them to live the lie that Heaven and him had to live.
Web of Dreams shows how the Casteel/Tatterton drama began.  This is Leigh's story.....
