Midi Playing:  Butterfly Kisses

Our Page of Hope

Dedicated to Alexis Nicole

The leaf with the teardrop reflects both intense suffering and hope for the future.  Though fallen, the leaf maintains its vitality symbolizing hope.  It cradles the teardrop with its upturned edges creating a sense of comfort.  As seasons change, so do feelings  Just as there is winter and spring, there is sadness and hope

We developed this page in memory of our daughter, Alexis Nicole.  She was born April 28, 2000 with open spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and a club foot.  She was born at Virginia Baptist Hospital at 1:55 p.m. and died at 4:19 p.m.  In that short amount of time, we were able to hold her and tell her we loved her.  We had pictures taken for memories, and the hospital gave us a keepsake box with the items she came into contact with while she was alive.

Alexis weighed 13.3 oz. and was 9.5 inches long.  Her mother was at a gestation period of 21 weeks.

We have made this site so that people with similar situations can express their concerns or just tell their story.  On this site we may place actual pictures of our angel after she was born, and then again after she passed away leaving our world behind and going on to a better place.  At this place, she will wait until the day that her mother and I can all reunite, but until that day, she lives in our minds and hearts.

Updated 06/21/00:  We were advised that there were no chromosomal abnormalities.  We also learned that Alexis also suffered from Arnold Chiari, in addition to the others listed above.

Alexis Nicole,

Until we see you, our little angel, just remember we all love you very much!

Love, Mommy & Daddy

We support Breast Cancer Awareness and place this on this site in memory of Alexis' great-grandmother, Granny Campbell.
