Living On Earth Festival

by maeve_dawnfire

I'm new to this group, but have been part of the mailing group for awhile.

I went to the living on earth festival, a four-hour drive from Sarnia, and was slightly disappointed. Several of the vendors didn't arrive, and around four of them didn't show until noon. The merchandise was nice, including a garden store, stones, one vendor was Raven's Whisper, which was quite a nice assortment of Wicca tools.

Though it was it's first year, the website for the festival made it sound like a lot more than it was.

I plan on going back next year, but I was surprised at the turn out. I don't recall seeing more than four or five people at the festival that weren't vendors. The musical instruments were lovely. Conch shells were even played.

I also wanted to mention to people that in Port Colborne there's 10,000 villages, a quaint store on charlotte street. Proceeds from each purchase go to the country that made the merchandise. There's also a store right near the festival that sells swords, daggers, old fashioned guns, etc.

Right now they're half price if you get there before they move. Most blades are by Kit Rae.

I stayed at the Rose Suites Best Western in Welland, and it was cheap for a suite, only a hundred and twenty dollars. Quite enjoyable. I recommend all these places to those who plan to go next year, and I also say it's a worth while trip if you like to browse in small stores or just go to the festival to enjoy the music and the selection of different valuables.

Be prepared to show up later though, vendors didn't seem to want to get up early!
