Celebration the Ottawa Community Party 2005

You are invited to join us in celebrating the Ottawa Community and the 1st year anniversary of OPPG. Time and date to fallow below.

This Community like many others have ups and downs.

One year ago some of us decided we needed a change from the Chat Groups available to us. For this reason we created the Ottawa and Gatineau Pagan Peer Group on January 2nd 2004. It as been called OPPG for short.

This group as grown way beyond what we expected. As I write this we number 146 members and it keeps growing steady. The first month we had 600 messages and now slightly slower we had 400 messages last month.

Though the OPPG is not for everybody I believe it as served very well the Community and I am proud to be one of the owners.

We aimed to create a safe, welcoming environment that members would stay on Moderation until one of us met them. This as created an interesting effect. Many of the members of this group make a great effort to come out and meet us in person.

Lately we have increased the numbers of moderators on the group. Having 4 out of 5 of the moderators going to the same fest we realized that we needed more people helping us out. I thank all the Moderators for taking on this task. You have helped out so much since we started this group.

Last but not least we would like to thank all the members for joining the group, keeping it interesting, posting interesting stuff, helping each other out and last but not least filling all the Polls we keep throwing at you.

You all welcomed to come and join us in celebrating the 1st year of OPPG and the Community in General.

Why: To celebrate the Community and 1 year of OPPG
Whom: All who wish to be there. (If you wish to cause trouble stay home)
What: Bring yourself and if it is at someone's home its BYOB/BYOF.
