Thanks, P.O., for bringing to my attention the question re In-Fest info.
What I'm going to ask daughter Laura to do is put all the info in the blurb at the top of the yahoo group, which anybody can read w.o. joining up.
But in the meantime, it's labour day weekend (this year, Sept. 3-6), costs $30 person or $50 couple, kids free, $15 day-pass. We're having Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo band on Saturday night. Bardic (Pagan Idol) on Sunday, brunch on Sunday with dinner music by I-forget-name, but good! Usual D&D at the fire. Main rit. I usually declare the event a workshop-free zone, but if people sneak off and do one I guess there's not much we can do about it. (Though our riding-your-broomstick workshop last year seemed to be a success, even if hardly anyone got off the ground, and I'm contemplating repeating from a previous year my tarot-in-ten-minutes, with someone timing me...I figure almost any workshop is bearable if it only lasts 10 minutes.)
It's rough camping. Cold well water in cooking area (we like people to do their cooking at the firepit...even though this year it doesn't look like it'll be as dry as has been the case). One shower. Couple port-a-potties. Parking is on the shoulder of the road - you drive in, unload, go back and park. You get your stuff to campsite (not very far ... it's a small place) by dolly or wheelbarrow (supplied). Everything you bring has to go out with you - we have no garbage pick-up here.
No food service here - gotta feed yourselves. (General store with basics and ice 3 km away.)
Laura is thinking of mask/costume making on Saturday prior to the Voodoo concert. Fun to have people dressed up for the concert.
Generally a relaxed, have-fun, last-fest-of-the-season (except for those ambitious enough to drive to Harvestfest in Oct.)...
Directions - drive to Perth on hiway 7. At the lights (3rd set if you're coming from Ottawa), junction of 511, go north to Larnark (stopping halfway along at Balderson for an ice-cream) (you could have had one in Carleton Place too), and in Lanark you hit a T-junction, turn left, and keep on that road (county 12) until you get here (3 km past McDonalds Corners).
any further questions, email me. (I'm more likely to see that than a post on the busy list...)
