| Today, my family and I will be making what I call good wish balls. I gather bayberry, laurel, pine, ceder, mistletoe, sage, and any type of evergreen I can find. I cut them up into small pieces and bless them with protection, abundance, good health, and love while I do this. (the technique you use for this is up to you) I also cut up small pieces of multiple colors of ribbons. I make sure that I have one clear ornament for each person doing this activity with us. Many times, we have pagan friends join us for this one. We all put an ample amount of ribbons and herbs in our Yule ball. While doing this, we tend to sing a song...usually one of the kids starts humming a song, and the rest of us follow suit. If one of the kids doesn't...I pick whatever song I feel is right and start singing it. Usually it is "May the circle be open" or "We all come from the Goddess" When every one is done, we put the top back on the ornament (oh yeah, don't forget to take the top off to put the neato stuff inside) (Giggles) We let each person tie the ribbon they want to the top and then we all give our ornament to someone else who is there with us. Then everyone does a group hug and goes and hangs their Good Wish Ball above their bed or in their room somewhere. Blessings, and see you tomorrow Fenix |
