The Pentagram

Pentacle & Pentagram.....The pentacle, is a five-pointed star with a single point upright,it is the most important symbol in witchcraft.It is a religious symbol,as is the cross to Christanity and the six-pointed star is to Judaism and a symbol of the magickal craft of witchcraft. In rituals such as Drawning Down The Moon, the high priestess may assume the pentacle position...standing with arms and legs outstretched...the symbol of birth and rebirth.

Many witches wear a pentacle pendant or ring as a sigh of their religion, or as Amulets or talismans. Most are made of silver, the metal of the Moon and psychic forces. In ritual pentagrams are drawn in the air with the athame or sword. These methods of drawing a pentagram to invoke are drawn differently than pentagrams to banish . In magick the pentagram is the witch's symbol of protection and positive power and is used to control the elemental forces.Pentagrams are also used in craft meditation exercises, in which each point of the star is associated with a specific quality,attrubute,concept,emotion or the name of Pagan deity.Each point represents the four elements, Earth,Air,Fire,Water,Spirit
