| What is Paganism? The term "Pagan" has numerous, common definitions. Many Dictionaries define Paganisms as anyone who is not Judeo, Islamic or Christian. Some people consider anyone who does not share their belief to be a pagan. Still others believe that being pagan, is to be Anti-Religion. None of these really capture true essence of paganism. What do Modern Pagans Believe? Paganisms is actually a large umbrella, containing a number of snature based religions beneath it, from the European Originated Wicca and Druidism, to African Yoruba Tradtions and Hawaiian Huna. As a result of this large diversity it is impossible to make statement about the beliefs of pagans that apply to all, although some tradtions can be very similar. Many Pagans tend to... ~Be Polytheist, believing more than one diety, or more than one aspect of a single diety. ~Be Pantheists, seeing the God/Goddess force represented in everything all around them. ~Recongnise the divinity of the femine as well as the masculine, not seeing masculine as the superior force. ~Believing all life forms are equal, sharing an equal claim to their own space. ~Believe that the forces of nature can be shaped in ways, commonly called "Magick" ~Believes that whatever actions a person takes, either mundane or magickal, good or bad, come back to him/her, sometimes threefold. ~Believes in Reincarnation, or some sort of life after death. How do Pagans practice their Religion? Many Pagans find spirtual expression through the practice of ritual, or religious ceremonies. These rituals are often held at significant point in the lunar year or solar cycle, offering a chance for pagans to commune with the Goddess/Gods, to celebrate the passages of life and work magick. Each Pagan Religion has its own special way of recognising the passing of the seasons and personal life passages. Ritual is often a way to imbue these moments with magick and reverence.
