| Craft Day was held in place of a meeting. We ordered pizza and watched "Sleepy Hollow" while trying our hand at candle making. We experimented with color layering, molds, herbs, scented oils, rock salt, and in one interesting oops, toliet paper rolls. | This time we went to Weir Creek Hot Springs near Jerry Johnson Hot Springs. We walked through the beautiful snow covered trees and climbed down rocks until we found an available hot spring. We attempted to build a fire, but the wood was too wet, so we kept ourselfs occupied with a night hike and telling stories in the tent. | Chris taught us how to make macrome. He bought beads and a large roll of hemp for us all to use. Keegan also bought some leather rope. We had a good time hanging out and weaving hemp. | This year we went to Elk River. We told stories and chatted around the fire the first night there. The next day, some individuals went to collect garnets out of the creek, and some of us played hackey sac. Then we went on a nature hike through the forest and on some old railroad ties. We caught sight of a pack of wolves as they were running away across a meadow. The second night, master chef Joel made us Fajitas and Brandy taught us how to make banana-chocolate-marshmallow things. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| On Friday night many of us gathered to played "The Chicago Caper," a pretend murder mystery about who killed Hal Capone, a famous mobster, and how it was done. Popular among theatre performers, you come dressed up suitably for the game (in this case, Chicago in the 1920s) and act as the character you are assigned. You could end up as a baseball player, a lounge singer/skilled assassin, or maybe a millionare gambler. Each person had their own booklet of information, strategically revealed throughout 4 rounds of the game. Everyone seemed to have a fun time. Kudos to Brandy for this wonderful idea. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This year we stayed in the Bitteroots in "Bear Country," approximately 60 miles to the nearest town. We eventually found our way to the campsite after driving around, lost in the dark for a while. We stayed two nights. In the morning of the first day, we were alerted to the fact that there was a mountain lion hanging out in the draw near our campsite. Later that day we hit the Jerry Johnson Hotsprings. It was very busy time, but we still managed to get a good spot and stayed the entire day. Sunday morning, half of us loaded into Ivy's car and hoped the gas would last to the next gas station.
