MINUTES

  1. New Menu was handed out for input. Suspense date for comments is 19 November 2004 .
  2. Mission Essential Letters – follow up E-mail with Dean on meeting that were held.  The current SOP will stay in place. Exceptions will probably not be given. Other options are available but cost is to be born by individuals.
  3. Playground clean-up is set for 18 November 2004 from 1100 to 1300 hours. Self help will provide tools.  List of tasks will be provided by Kay Roche.  Examples are mulch turnover, rake leaves, etc.  The Sand box will be re-filled in the spring (Sifting of the sand was recommended).
  4. Approved free care for hourly and part-day for PAG reps during meeting- No PAG credit will be given for meeting.  Payment expected if meeting was missed.
  5. Accreditation thru NAEYC (Every 5 years) – Re-accreditation is going to happen soon.  This is a self study of best practices.  Handouts were given.  Informal survey was handed out at last month’s open house. 
    A formal one will be handed out again during the accreditation process- probably the 1st week of January. There is a 31 March 2005 deadline.  Validator’s will come to verify with only 24 hours notice.
  6. Building Work update. Gutters are to be repaired before January. Ceiling grid and tile replacement is in the works.  Wall paper replacement has not been scheduled yet.
  7. SAS – 16 December 2004 Open house at both buildings with children putting on a performance.  Accreditation will also be going on for this program.  Parent participation for panel will be required.  A flyer was handed out.  On 17 November 2004 the SAS will participate in the open house at CDC for the turkey lunch. From 1200 to 1600 hours there will be a field trip to the Pallisades Mall.
  8. Volunteer packet needs to be completed for participation in program.  Parents should get with caregivers for a list of tasks. A discount of 10% off for one child will be given after 8 credits.
  9. 9 December 2004 is the next PAG meeting at noon in the CDC.
  10. The youth Jazz performs at the UAB game on 20 November 2004 .
  11. There will be a 12 team tournament on Thanksgiving weekend 26-27 November 2004.
