Godsmack is one of my all-time favorite bands. They actually have really good riffs in all their songs and are melodic enough to sing along with. Tommy Stewart, the original percussionist, is gone! He was asked to leave by everyone in the band, allegedly so that the band could move on to more creative ideas. The tentative replacement is Shannon Larkin, percussionist for Amen [go to blister.com to find out more.] Favorite Songs: Sick of Life, Moon Baby, Spiral, Get Up, Greed, and Forgive Me. [everything is good, making that list was hard!!]

I knew about Disturbed when they first came out and all was good. They are more techno [using synthesizers and shite] but they make it sound good instead of doing it and it sounding like crap. I was sort of...reintroduced [?] to Disturbed this summer through camp and I realize how much they really rock. Favorite Songs: The Game, The Meaning of Life, Violence Fetish Numb, Prayer, and Fear.

Black Label Society is a new discovery. They were recommended and I'm glad I got some of their songs. They are more like Godsmack; no synthesizers, just pure uber sweet guitar riffs [courtesy of Zakk Wylde] and lots of heavy bass. Favorite Songs: Battering Ram, No More Tears, and Genocide Junkies.

Alice In Chains is a slightly old-school band but do not let that fool you. Remember, these bands showed today's bands how to rip it up [man, can Jerry make that guitar wail!]. Moment of silence for Layne, please. On a happier note, Jerry went solo a while ago and is coming out with another cd! Favorite Songs: Them Bones, Rain When I Die, Sickman, Angry Chair, Down in a Hole, Would?, Man in the Box, and Heaven Beside You.

FRESH NEW BAND!! The Booda Velvets kind of deviate from all the latter bands in style but they still do not fail to make some awesome music. Just ignore the fact that their name is also the name of a dog bone. Favorite songs: Cassius Clay, Staring at the Sun, Sleepless, and American.

I have Chevelle's first cd and it kicks ass. Not in the Godsmack/Disturbed ass-kicking genre, but in it's own, more relaxing but nevertheless awesome way. An interesting fact about Chevelle is that all three guys are brothers. I could never survive being in a band with my brother! Favorite Songs: Mia, Prove to You, Skeptic, Anticipation, and Long.

Dispatch [I couldn't get a good picture...] Dispatch has, i think, a very calming and mellow sound that is not good to listen to when staying up all night. They sound like...well, OAR. Favorite Songs: The General, Out Loud, Mission and Lightning

OAR is another melodic rock band that sounds like...Dispatch. I can't think of any other way to describe them, you just must hear them. Favorite Songs: Black Rock, Hey Girl and Crazy Game of Poker.
