Well, here's a picture - it looks somewhat like her, as she has tattoos (being an Amazon, of course) and goes around with a spear and all - I've been experimenting with the anime/manga style, which is why she has that look - kind of cutesy for an Amazon, but I'm not that great an artist - ah well, enough of this babbling.

I'm currently working on writing out her history in a more detailed story form - or at least a bunch of anecdotes about her or something. So maybe I'll post that when I get through. In the meantime, I do have some notes I made about her history, which I'll put here.

Syren was the daughter of a captain whose wife was dead, and so she sailed with her father on his ship. When she was four years old, they sailed to tropical areas to gather exotic things to sell ? coconuts, herbs, and the like. But the voyage did not turn out as expected. An amazon tribe attacked when the sailors invaded their territory, took everything from the ship, and brought the men back as slaves. One amazon, Jesari, adopted Syren as her own daughter, as she had borne only boys.

Being only a small child, Syren soon left behind her former life and adopted the life of an amazon child. She did show some above average vocal talent, and was soon learning to play the panpipes as well.

Jesari was a sorceress, and had a small fruit bat, Cinder, for a familiar. Cinder took a liking to Syren, and, when she was not flying through the night in search of good fruit, sleeping, or with her mistress she was with the girl.

When Syren was fifteen, she was decreed old enough to participate in the tribe?s battles. Wielding a machete, she managed to capture a young man in her first battle, so now she had her own slave. But as yet she still lived with Jesari, and thus had no need of slaves. Still, when she was bored she did talk to the young man ? Erek, a cabin boy. He told her of the world he had come from. Fascinated with his tales, Syren began wondering about that world ? and her half-dream memories of her early childhood began to come back to her.

Syren was eighteen when she reached full womanhood by the tribal standards and decided to go off to the world where the boy had come from. She brought him along with her ? he was seventeen now, just a year younger than her ? to serve as a guide, and they went off.
