ICE
CUBE WITH ANOTHER FRIDAY MOVIE???
New
Line Cinema has given Ice Cube the green light for a third installment of
the rapper-turned-actor's "Friday" series of movies, according
to The Hollywood Reporter. "Friday After Next," which
follows 1995's "Friday" and last year's "Next Friday,"
will begin production in the fall with an eye on a Thanksgiving 2002
release. Cube -- who wrote the script and will produce the project with
Matt Alvarez through their Cube Vision production company -- will reprise
his role as Craig Jones. Mike Epps (Day-Day Jones), Don "D.C."
Curry (Uncle Elroy Jones), and John Witherspoon (Mr. Jones) will all be
back for the third go around. A director has not yet been attached. While
"Next Friday" took the Jones clan out of the ghetto thanks to
Day-Day's lottery win, the new film will see Craig and Day-Day as
roommates back in the hood, holding down jobs as strip mall security
guards. The story is set across two days -- Christmas Eve and Christmas
Day.
