The Pact-game
Find the pact: you've seen it often, but didn't know it was a game
.

  Simple version
Find out which two people in your group have a pact. Two people, in a group of at least four, secretly have a pact. The others have to find out who the "pactpeople" are. The pact is that pactpeople always agree with each other.
Play it anytime, in any company. Talk about possible extra rules or game proposals, or talk about non-game-related things, like you did before this game.

How to secretly make pacts
Take as much pieces of paper as there are group members.
Make a smal cut in two pieces. Fold all pieces twice.

  • Everybody picks randomly a piece of paper, and secretly finds out if it's got a cut.
  • Everybody but the pactpeople closes their eyes.
  • The pactpeople find each other bij eyecontact, and agree on the pact, maybe by pointing at one out of a list.
  • Everybody closes their eyes, and on the count of three, everybody opens.

If you want the number of pactpeople to be unknown, have twice as much pieces of paper as there are groupmembers. Half the number of pieces gets a small cut. Any number of pactpeople can occur now. If you can't stand not knowing if there is a pact at all, decide to count the left cut pieces.

If you don't like paper, don't use it at all. Whoever doesn't want to be in a pact closes the eyes, while the pactpeople make visual contact.

Variations
- The number of people who have a pact is unknown.
- The pact is unknown, that is, it is selected by the pactpeople from a list of pacts or they found it in another way.
- The pact is not always effectuated, or it varies in strength from 1 to 10.
- Have two or more pacts by different people.
- Let the pactpeople agree during the game about the pact.
- Change the pact during the game.
- Play it on stage as a theatre improvisation game. Ask the audience for a pact.

Nice pacts
- Never agree with each other
- Mirror each others movements
- Both be emotional
- Avoid eyecontact

Where does it come from?
We found out that it's a game on march 7th 2000, drinking in the Xieje-bar in The Hague, Holland. Of course, the inspiring pact was "secret lovers".
