May 14, 2004:

On May 29, watch Running Over Cars at the Joint.  You can download a discount flyer by clicking here.  So who the hell are these guys?  Let’s just say many things have happened since February 21.  Now that we’re back online, we’ve decided to just pick up were we left off and give you the latest.  Although there isn’t much to say about ROC at this time, we are all looking forward to watch their debut concert at the Joint.

About Stattica, Paco Arespacochaga has officially taken a leave of absence from the group due to personal reasons.

With regard to Introvoys, we heard that KATZ entertainment is really gearing up to bring the ‘Voys to the US in October for a reunion tour.  You can reach Jackie Regala’s office at 562.529.8680 for ticket, booking and show information.

February 21, 2004:

Stattica had a successful show at The Derby last night.  The four lads are very pleased.  The audience, the promoters the venue and we at Webmustah, Inc, were also very pleased!  We approached Stattica frontman, Dakota Aesquivel, last night and asked him for an interview.  Instead he promised to email us his thoughts and also gave us permission to publish it for all of you.  If you haven’t checked out Stattica, you should.  Anyway, here is what Dakota Aesquivel thought of last night’s show…

The Good ---
Well, I can confidently say, that this band can put on a good show. 114 heads was the official count. We weren't as nervous as we were previous shows, and that was some cause of concern for Gabriel and I. I had some close friends in the audience and I didn't want to let them down. We were so calm backstage, wondering why we weren't as wound up as usual. But when we hit the stage, it was like...well, we went pro. We did the things we knew worked, there weren't any "unpredictables" that surfaced (at least none that I know of), and it just had that air of "we know what we're doing". Well, Pac's been here before, so Gabriel and I are probably going to have similar emotions as this band grows since we're experiencing these things for the first time together. Patrick seemed nervous, quiet as usual, but there was some tension. Throughout the show I kept ribbing on him -- "Patrick, how we doin', man?" or (pointing to his music sheet) "Hey man, that's cheating!" He would acknowledge me with a smile. But we're locking into the audience, it's becoming a great interplay. Gabriel is coming out of his inherent shyness, my stepping into the role of frontman is becoming more adept with experience, and our rhythm section, Pac and Patrick, well hell, they're pretty friggin' solid. But we've started that flow that at one point I was doubting we'd ever achieve. All the bands backstage were very cool, congratulatory, just very sweet. The punk bands, the swing bands, they were so gracious and cool -- "Man, you guys are pros!" It's a good sign to me when bands who naturally assume each other as competition pierce through that protective veneer to issue out a heartfelt congrats. That means our peers are giving us props, and that our characters onstage portray us as approachable and likeable. So audience likeability was a definite high, backstage band interaction was great, and the non-stop congrats afterwards was very cool. We received a lot of drink tickets from the club, and we got the weirdest of looks when I muttered "Well, the band doesn't drink, so we'll have to give 'em away".

The BAD --
A lot of people, and I mean strangers grabbing me as I wound my way through the club, complained that our set was too short, especially compared to other acts. In fact, after 2/3s of our song, the sound guy announced us (to say that we're ending). As we attempted to keep playing, he cut my mike off, so I counted us off and we ended. My reasoning of the situation is I'd rather leave the audience wanting more than having them think we went on a minute longer. That being said, we did have the biggest draw, and we've seen that usually means we get the most time, so I think the band they chose to play an hour was an error of judgement. Well, I don't know. I mean, it is a business, and they got their money, and we made it so that we DEFINITELY got our money and then some (negotiating a payout with them proved wise), so economically speaking, we made out better than anybody. So only our egos are hurt. And these four guys, well, our natural humility takes care of any ego problems, so there's absolutely no toll on our spirituality, if that makes sense. I'll probably bring it up to Sean Healy come Monday, only for the principle of the thing.

And The UGLY --
I treated myself to two Big Macs, two cheeseburgers and supersized fries after the show, falling into a 2:00 am sleep as a gluttonous mass not unlke Jabba the Hut.

Thank you to everybody who came. We can't stress enough how thankful we are that you are digging what we're doing. And I swear, our audience has got to be the coolest bunch of people. I have not met ONE asshole yet, not one. Everybody is like, beautiful and sweet. I'm not sure it gets better than this.

February 14, 2004:

Jonathan Buencamino, of Introvoys, called our offices to give us additional information on Universal Records’ compilation album.  The title of the album is Akustic Natin 2.  Aside from Jonathan Buencamino, the album also features Regine Velasquez, 5th Gear, Neocolours, Geneva Cruz, Jed Maddela, Karylle, Ogie Alcasid, Ito Rapadas, Mike Bon, Cacai Velasquez, Mike Plana, Arnee, Noel Cabangon, True Faith, and Parokya ni Edgar.

Please feel free to email Jonathan and the rest of Introvoys at [email protected]

February 10, 2004:

All Introvoys fans have a solid reason to rejoice!  Rumors of a planned reunion have finally materialized.  As of press time, we have received word that Introvoys frontman, Jonathan Buencamino, is part of a compilation album to be released by Universal Records.  The same album contains songs from Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velazquez, Ogie Alcasid and pop sensation JR.

Of all the songs on the album, Jonathan Buencamino gets to carry the whole package via the carrier single “Di Na Ko Aasa Pa”.

Introvoys manager Tommy Tanchanco confirms that this is the first of a series of campaigns to create public awareness of Introvoys’ return to the music industry.  While Introvoys is prepping up for its reunion run, Jonathan is currently wrapping up his solo debut album.  Unlike other band members who release solo albums and eventually breakout of the band, Jonathan’s solo album is in fact a kick off to the band’s much anticipated return.

Right now we have the commitment of all the original members quips Tommy Tanchanco.

Here at Industry Buzz, we’re keeping our fingers crossed!

February 2, 2004:

Paco announced his resignation from L.A. hard rock band Brush the Green, this morning at 7:45am PST.  In a phone interview with industry buzz, the drummer expressed his lack of enthusiasm as the main reason for his departure.  I love the guys in the band!  I just had to draw the line between work and friendship.

When asked if there was any rift between members, Paco firmly reassured us that all is well among all four members.  They were Brush the Green before me.  They definitely will be the same band after me.  I learned a lot from the band.  Before BTG, I was a “pop” drummer.  I can say with conviction that I’ve played authentic rock music!  When asked if he would rejoin the band in an event they get signed by a major label (word has it BTG is currently shopping their music around Los Angeles), No… I will not go back to BTG.  I may hit my head on the wall when they get signed but I wouldn’t want to be part of the band anymore.  I wouldn’t be fair to everybody.

We can only wish him well!

January 7, 2004:

We are glad to be back.  After a much needed hiatus, the gang is all here.  We don’t even know where to start.  For starters, we are very thankful that you have all supported this site.  We would also like to thank Paco Arespacochaga for allowing us to create this site and have him as our first client.  To be quite honest, we all feel bad for not maintaining this site while we where gone.  We just had to get away from Los Angeles for awhile.

Now that we’re back, we promise to update this site and keep it up and running.  It’s not easy when you have more than fifty sites to maintain.  That’s right!  Webmustah, Inc.  just signed up its 50th customer!  And how did we jumpstart our buzz… that’s right, through this website!

To all of you wanting to hear what Paco has been up to of late, that is just what you are going to do!  As we go to press, Paco and the rest of Stattica are bouncing between pre-production of the band’s second outing and touring in support of their debut album entitled STATTICA.  Aside from this, he has been working on songs that he plans to post on the web.  “The web is the best channel to get my music back in the hands of my fans in the Philippines and the rest of Asia” says the drummer/songwriter of his current solo project.

We are in the process of uploading the “hard to find” treasure page that we put up a month ago.  Thank you to all of you who have sent pictures and articles of both Paco and Introvoys.  Allow us a bit of time to compile them and we will post them here for all of you.

December 11, 2003:

We just got lucky!  We have over a dozen “hard to find” Introvoys / Paco photos sent to us by fans from around the world.  We’re finally picking up speed.  Even our guestbook is starting to become more dynamic.  And Paco himself has been very proactive in updating his online journal.  Oh, and you should check out the poem (December 9 posting) he made for his wife!

Anyway, Stattica is looking for a replacement bass player.  Apparently, current bass player, Ben Vallins decided to pursue another career path.  Acting, perhaps?  If you are interested, you can email Stattica management at [email protected] or call 310.200.4904 and look for Dakota.

Paco has always been very sharp with his ability to play the drums through songs without the need for a cheat sheet or an actual music transcription.  This ability was developed during his 3 year tenure as the exclusive drummer of St Paul College of Pasig’s batch ’93.  We got word that a small portion of them met for dinner at Buca Di Beppo in Old Town Pasadena.  We have a picture!

December 4, 2003:

Here is our take on the “Back 2 Back” Concert by Art & Soul Entertainment featuring Erick Lerma & Mike Mandap with Mastaplann & Sessions.  We arrived at around 7:45 pm and were quite surprised that there was still finger food available.  We saw the band members munching on and mingling with the audience and were very friendly with everybody.  Erick, Mike and Mastaplann were nowhere in site.  We figured they were getting ready for their debut.

At around 8:30, the band took the stage and turned on their gear.  At this point, the audience was getting excited, probably due to impatience but who knows?  Anyway, we thought the opening number was a novelty!  Musical Director Christian Buado did a good job arranging the opening number.

Erick took the stage solo after the energetic opening piece with fellow artist, Mike Mandap.  He sang his first original composition, the title of which has escaped my mind.  After his spot, Mike Mandap took to the stage and strutted his talent to a very receptive audience.  Basically, that was all they ever did.

Halfway through the show, Mastaplann came in and played their 2 of their hits.  They were greeted by an overwhelming noise.  People in the audience kept screaming for them to sing “Bring that Booty”.  They never did.  We also secretly wanted them to play that song.

After Mastaplann’s set, which was at the middle of the show (and funny enough), Greg Lumbaki of the Church of Scientology went up on stage and started promoting his “religious cult” to all of us!  Can you imagine?  We thought it was hilarious.  He should try telemarketing to promote his church someday!

Catherine Briones, who also plays piano for Sessions, sang “the Prayer” with Mike and Erick that night.  She sang very well.  She actually caught everyone’s attention.  Observing all the guys in the audience, me and my fellow staff were laughing just by merely watching them transform from sleepy to wide awake!

Having watched millions of concerts in the past, I’d say the concert wasn’t at all impressive.  It had highlights but that because it was too long, most of the highlights merely got diluted in the shows entirety.  Both artists showed promise but evidently gave away the fact that they were still a bunch of amateurs.  Nonetheless, if they keep their egos at bay, they will definitely make it someday.

Concert rating:  5

November 26, 2003:

Two artists, one concert.  Erick Lerma and Mike Mandap headlines an Art & Soul Entertainment concert entitled “a Back 2 Back concert”.

Supporting Lerma and Mandap are famed Fil-Am rappers, Mastaplann and the band called Sessions

Speaking of Sessions, the band has quite an interesting line-up.  Lead by up and coming Musical Director, Christian Buado the band boasts of Catherine Briones on Piano and vocals, Jomel Sarmiento on drums/percussion/vocals, Paco Arespacochaga on drumz/percussion/vocals, Pa3ck Amonia on Bass and Donovan Raitt on Guitars.

I will be looking forward to see Sessions perform and hope that Erick Lerma and Mike Mandap step up to the plate. We’ll be back with our review of the concert entitled… (sigh)

November 25, 2003:

Singingwoods Production’s website is up and running.  It isn’t running at full throttle yet but at least it’s up and running!  We haven’t been contacted by anyone from their offices with regard to managing their site.  Webmustah, Inc would love to maintain their site!

Visit the site and be inspired.  Singingwoods Productions will change the way niche concerts are produced in the United States!  www.singingwoodsproductions.tk

November 23, 2003:

Stattica’s concert at Club Lush in Santa Monica had a meltdown on November 21.  A day before the show, the venue was ordered shut by the US Fire Marshall in violation of safety laws.  It is rumored that there were a lot of disgruntled Stattica fanatics who still went to the venue to confront management but failed to do so because the place was completely deserted.

On a positive note, Brush the Green’s concert at the Good Hurt on November 22 turned out to be successful.  Last night’s event coincided with Chrissie Mazzarella’s birthday bash.  Chrissie is the wife of Brush the Green frontman, Rocky.

Across the Pacific Ocean, word has it that Introvoys is gearing up for a comeback.  How can this be when Introvoys drummer, Paco Arespacochaga, is already based in the US?  According to an Introvoys insider, the band will meet in Los Angeles and kick off the show in the City of Angels taking it all the way east.  The band will then go north to Canada, fly of to Europe and then to Asia.  They will do a series of shows in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore before flying off to the Philippines were they will launch their much awaited album and promote it with a tour of the whole archipelago.  The Philippine tour still being worked on.

November 19, 2003:

We are getting ready to relaunch this site.  If you noticed a sudden drop in news frequency, it’s not because we fired our staff.  It's because we had to go back to the drawing board and make a new schematic of this site.  We are also about to hit our 1,000th visitor and we are very excited about it.  Hey, we might give him/her an annual pass to Universal Studios or to Enchanted Kingdom.

On Friday, November 21, Stattica will be at CLUB LUSH.  On Saturday, November 22, Brush the Green will be at the Goodhurt.  Now we all know that these two bands only have one drummer between them.  Kudos to the man!

November 6, 2003:

We are just about ready to move forward with INDUSTRY BUZZ.  Upon Paco’s request, we are expanding our scope and limitations pertaining to this page.  Of course, we will still talk about stuff that matters but this time, we will include news about other artists that have been connected or are still connected to Paco.  The page’s counter part, PERSONAL BUZZ will be reformatting as well.

November 5, 2003:

If you visit our guestbook, you will notice an entry placed by INTROVOYS FOUNDER.  Yes, he’s the real deal!  We’ve finally heard from 3rd-G Cristobal, Introvoys co-founder and ex guitar player.  We’ve also forwarded his info to Introvoys management and have received word that if all goes well, we will be seeing 3rd G in action again, with Introvoys when the band goes out on a reunion tour.

November 4, 2003:

A lot of requests have been mailed to our offices regarding Paco’s drum set up.  We are coordinating with the people behind the artist with regard to this.  Rest assured, we will come up with Paco’s gear specs.

November 3, 2003:

We just got word from Stattica management that the band’s scheduled concert at Club Lush had the wrong information posted on the band’s official website.  Please edit your PDA’s and note that the show will start at 8:30pm and it will be in Santa Monica and not in Glendale.  We at Webmustah, Inc. will be there to cover the event.

October 18, 2003:

"They are better than the club!" "...hands down, their performance was the best set of the evening!" were two of the many comments we heard after Paco's band, Stattica exploded on stage at the Goodhurt as part of their Southern California bar tour in support of their self titled debut album.  Go to the band's official site for more news! For the meantime, check out our public gallery page to see photos of the concert.
