| New Scout Parents Resource and Information Site
www.ScoutParents.org Your Starting Point for Scouting Informaiton and Resources Now that you have established your interest in Scouting and ScoutParents, you will want to take advantage of the many information resources available at your fingertips. All you need is a computer and internet access! ScoutParents is an element of the National Parent Initiative of the Boy Scouts of America. The vision of lifelong Scouter Gerald I. Lawhorn, the intent is to provide parents with information and tools to help them understand the importance of becoming more involved with their Scouts. In turn, we hope that Scouts will stay with the program longer, working their way to Eagle Scout. Here you will meet and exchange ideas with Scout leaders, volunteers, and parents involved in Scouting. Ask a question or test an idea by posting it in the Discussion Forum. Scouting is a world full of adventure and discovery for parents and their children, and Scouting Basics is a great place to start. Here, you will find out what Scouting is, how it works, the history of Scouting, the path to Eagle Scout and what comes after, and uncover some fun facts along the way. Just as Scouts plan and prepare for a camping trip or a service project, parents and mentors of Scouts need the right tools to get the job done the right way. Unit Resources hosts information you will want to have at hand, like ready-to-show PowerPoint presentations, a digital image library, Web-based tools, and links to other Scouting sites. YOU are your child�s number one role model and partner in Scouting. Read about some of the most important aspects of parental involvement. For nearly 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has provided a program to develop strong, well-rounded citizens form our nation�s youth.
