11/11/05 Science Center in Des Moines "Camp In" We will be camping with a Pack from the Des Moines are giving us a chance to meet new scouts. The theme is "Mars, Stars and Quasars"
We are working on our Communicator badge.
Steve Smith took us on our tour and explained all the buttons and knobs and showed us the "millions" of wires it took to run a newsroom. He called it his spaghetti pile.
We made a commercial that will be played on the air on Thursday September 29 at 7:05 am to invite others to join cub scouts. We taped our commercial onto a cd and we will bring it to our pack meeting so you guys can hear it too ( if you did not hear us on the radio.)
We learned the news and some of the music comes into a satalite dish thats on top of the radio station and then it can be aired from towers outside of town so we all can listen to it. While we were there we could hear a man doing a talk show live that was in his house on the beach in florida.
Steve invited us to do a show on scouts.
He will play "Hero" a song by "Nickelback" for us on the radio also.
He also invited us to come and work at the station when we turn 16 years old, He said we would help when the football games were broadcast,we would read the news and the weather live and other things...
