Cub Pack 459

May Committee Meeting Minutes

The May committee meeting tonight and I wanted to get out some updated information.  Anyone interested in Jambo U at Kutztown the date again is May 20th.  The opening ceremony begins at 8:45 and the evening program will start at 7:00 p.m.  Day registration is $15.00 for youth and $3.00 for adults.

The may pack meeting will be held outside at the South Heidelberg park rain or shine 5/22/06 @ 6:30.

The Memorial Day parade is may 29th, our group needs to be at Worley Lumber @9:15 a.m. to muster for the parade.  Please be in full uniform.

June 5th, is our next committee meeting at Trinity Lutheran Church @ 7:00 p.m.

June 10th is the Strawberry Festival at Trinity Lutheran Church; we will need at least 8 volunteers to man the booths.  Pastor Diefenderfer stated he would like scouts as well as parents help work the stands.  Strawberry Festival cleanup will be one of the following days, June 5th, 6th or 7th.  Further details on the exact day will follow.

June 14th is the Flag Day ceremony at the Heritage Center, I will have to get an exact time.

June 19th is our June pack meeting; it will also be held at the south Heidelberg Park, will be grilling hot dogs and playing games for this meeting.  The theme for the month of June is "Pick a reason to celebrate" so we will be celebrating Cub Scouts.  If anyone would be kind enough to make food donations it would be greatly appreciated.  I will supple charcoal and lighter fluid, (with my super match, fire should not be a problem).  Other items needed are hot dogs, chips and pretzels, soda and juice, rolls, condiments, maybe some baked goods for treats.  Please contact Joi Honer, she is keeping the sign up list for the donations.  ([email protected])

It is my great pleasure to announce that Lisa Ogurchak has graciously volunteered to be the Pack Trip coordinator, thank you very much for volunteering your time and helping to continue to make our pack a successful one.

We are in desperate need of two other positions, one is secretary, which is responsible for taking notes at the monthly committee meetings.  It is a small task that is greatly needed and appreciated.  We also need someone to volunteer to be our treasurer.  Mr. Shillady has offered to stay on as long as needed, but he cannot help us forever. This is a crucial position on the committee.  The committee meets one night a month.  I'm am fully aware that everyone is pressed for time, we all work and have other activities which seem to take up all free time, heck not free, just all of our time.  But it is a small but very rewarding task.  If anyone is interested please let me know and Shaun will be happy to show you the ropes.  PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE.
