FOLLOW-UP

Committee members presented a follow-up to the past month’s activities.  The Pinewood Derby was a success. Thank you to all Scouts and parents for a successful event. A special thank-you was given to Mr. Boyer for coordinating the derby and Mrs. Patti for running the concession stand.  It was a great success. A special thank you was also given to those Scouts and parents who attended Scout Sunday.   Minutes from last meeting were approved.

The Committee reviewed the Derby and decided that some of the guidelines that were put in place by Mr. Boyer beforehand were not followed completely by all Scouts and their parents. A suggestion was made for next year to create an inspector at the Derby to try to enforce these guidelines.

SCHEDULE REVIEW

The Committee reviewed plans for our Blue & Gold Banquet on March 26th   at the CW Middle School. This will be the Pack meeting for March.  Money is due to Mrs. Granus as soon as possible. Mrs. Granus said that all planning is going well for the event.

All Den Leaders should have lists of award needs to Mrs. Troup by Monday, March 13th in order for her to have them for the Blue & Gold.

There is a Scout Training Day being held at St. Ignatius School Hall on Saturday, April 1, 2006 from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM. This will be conducted by Kathy Keating. Any adult who needs training should attend, if possible.

Ms. Honer discussed attending Jambo Camp this May 20th for the day in Kutztown. The Scouts will not be going as a Pack-but the Committee is encouraging Scouts to attend with families. The Committee will keep the Pack updated on any changes that come up involving this event.

NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Boyer informed the Committee of a website that may be beneficial for the Den Leaders. Scoutxing.com   is a website that includes songs, openings, closings and activities that can be done at den meetings.

Committee discussed a possible Spring Field Trip for the Scouts using some of the profits from the Joe Corbi fundraiser. Some ideas that were discussed: Franklin Institute, Gettysburg, Washington D.C., camping on the Lehigh River. The Committee has asked any members that have suggestions to research them and bring them to next Committee meeting to be discussed.

Committee also thought that a plaque should be purchased for Trinity Lutheran Church to show our appreciation for sponsoring us throughout the years.

Ms. Honer suggested that the Pack consider attending the Reading Phillies Swimming Pool Buffet on either Friday, May 26th  at 6:00 or Wednesday, June 7that 5:30. This will be discussed in further detail at next meeting.

The date for Summer Camp swim checks will be June 17th from 6:00-8:00PM. Also, the date for the Pack Pool Party will be August 12th from 6-8 PM. Both of these events will take place at Bethany Children’s Home.

The Committee will be looking into having the Pack march in the Memorial Day Parade in Wernersville this year. The Committee voted to let the Armed Forces Day Parade committee know that we will be unable to attend this year due to Jambo camping at Kutztown. We will, however, express our desire to march again next year.

The issue of getting a bus for Summer Camp this year was discussed. Many options were discussed but no decision was made at this time.

There is a Roundtable meeting this Thursday night at 7:30.
