Committee Meeting Minutes

 

 

CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order-7:10.  In Attendance: Joi Honer, Mike Brown, Leanne Granus, Shaun Shillady, Gloria Troup, Tom Troup, Steve Boyer, and Colleen Shillady

 

REVIEW OF LAST MEETING”S MINUTES

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

Mr. Shillady presented the treasurer’s report.  Committee approved.

 

FOLLOW-UP

Committee members presented a follow-up to the past month’s activities.  The Popcorn Fundraiser was a success. Thank you to all Scouts who participated. The Committee voted to allow the boys to receive 45% of their popcorn sales.

 

SCHEDULE REVIEW

Joe Corbi Fundraiser will be distributed to all boys at the December Pack meeting. A reminder was made to make sure that Scouts collect the money for the pizza when they are taking the order. The Committee is encouraging all Scouts to sell as much as possible to help defray some of the costs for Summer Camp. Orders and money will be collected in January.

 

 

The Committee has decided to inquire about securing the Middle School for our Blue & Gold Banquet on March 26^th.  Mrs. Granus also has acquired Boscov’s catering for the event.  The Committee was told that the Boy Scouts will be in charge of making any necessary repairs to the “Crossing Over” Bridge. Mr. Boyer asked Mr. Shillady if he would be able to contact Mr. Matthews to see if his place of employment could donate a new Bridge for the ceremony.  

 

 

The activities for the December 19^th Pack meeting was discussed.  Santa will attend. Mrs. Brownmiller and Mrs. Rebeiro will be in charge of food for this event. Awards will also be given out at this Meeting. The Committee also decided it would be nice to have some Christmas Caroling.   

 

Ms. Honer brought up the possibility of Scouts attending Jambo Camp this May in Kutztown. The Committee has decided to keep this event in mind and discuss it again as we get closer to the date.

 

The Committee discussed the Klondike Derby which will be held on January 14, 2006. This event is held at Hawk Mountain. This is an event that runs from 9:00-3:00 and many other Packs make this an overnight stay. Mr. Shillady stated that it would be a good opportunity for Webelos I & II to observe this event and offer assistance and he has called Hawk Mountain and reserved a spot for our Webelos. Mr. Shillady will get a list of supplies together for the January Committee Meeting.  

 

 

Mr. Boyer discussed the Pine Wood Derby Event which will be held on Feb 26th. He has volunteered to run this event.  The Derby cars have been purchased and will be distributed to the boys by Santa. Mr. Boyer will be going over the Derby rules for all parents. The Committee hopes that this will be a fun-filled event for our boys. Mrs. Patti will be in charge of the food for this event, but she will be looking for a parent apprentice to help in order to pass the torch for next year. Den 4 will be in charge of the Flag Ceremony for the Derby.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Mr. Boyer informed the Committee of a website that may be beneficial for the Den Leaders. Scoutxing.com   is a website that includes songs, openings, closings and activities that can be done at den meetings.
