SCHEDULE REVIEW

Saturday, October 8th is October Quest from 8AM- 1PM. Mr. Brown will be working on a badge with Scouts and Mr. Shillady will be on the planning committee for this event.

****REVISION****

Duncan’s Corn Maze will be on Friday, October 21st at 6:00 PM. This is a change in time from the flyer that was sent out earlier this month. Please mark your calendars and join the Pack in a night of Halloween fun.

Pastor Diefenderfer invited the Scouts to attend a pre-Halloween Parade party to be held at the Church. The party will begin at the Church at 5:45 the evening of Thursday, October 27th. The Scouts will then proceed to Worley’s Lumber at 6:45 to prepare for the Parade. All Scouts are welcome!! Mr. Shillady will be in charge of parade so please let him know if you can make it that evening. A flyer will be available at next Pack meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Popcorn Information will be handed out at the Pack meeting on October 17th. Mrs. Phillips and Mr. Harding will be coordinating this fundraiser.

Plans were discussed for activities for our next Pack meeting. Mr. Brown will be running the meeting and it is entitled, To the Rescue.  Mr. Harding has offered to contact the fire company and possibly have a fire truck available for this meeting.

Mrs. Granus asked the Committee’s permission to head up a Katrina Relief Project. The Committee agreed and Mrs. Granus will give us more details when she receives information from Louisiana. We will be collecting items (to be determined later) to help Packs from Louisiana that have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Ms. Granus also suggested that Committee members should start taking turns attending Round Table meetings so that we always have someone in attendance.

Ms. Granus and Mrs. Troup recommended that a master list of all the Dens should be kept. This will be a help for future leaders. Ms. Granus bought software that will help keep track of advancements from year to year.

The issue of the size of the Bear’s Den was also brought up tonight. With the enrollment of new members, this Den has grown very large. Cub Scout policy states that there can only be 7 children per den. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Phillips will be asking for volunteers to step up and help with the leadership of this Den at the next Pack meeting.

Mrs. Patti let the Committee know that Mr. Matthews, the Boy Scout leader, has contacted her and would like to start to form a partnership with our Webelos II Den. The Boy Scouts have invited Den 4 to a winter campout. The Boy Scouts will also make some visits to Den 4’s meetings and Den 4 will in turn attend their meetings.  More information will follow at a later time.

The topic of the Blue and Gold Banquet was brought up and the Committee decided it will need to repair both the Bridge and Arrow for this ceremony. It was suggested that one of our dens might want to volunteer to make the repairs and earn their Craftsman’s Badge.

Mrs. Troup also gave the Committee the good news that her husband will be returning home from Iraq sometime this month. She would like to have Welcome Home ceremony at the November Pack Meeting.  All Committee members were happy to hear the good news and look forward to helping with this ceremony.

Committee members ended meeting with discussion on certain issues involving money owed to the Pack.  Mr. Brown has sent a certified letter to the party involved and has received no response. He will now take the matter to the District Justice.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:05
