Committee Meeting Minutes

CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order-7:00. In Attendance: Joi Honer, Mike Brown, Leanne Granus, Joyce Miller, Shaun Shillady, Dennis Swartz, Steve Boyer, Gretchen Patti, Gloria Troup, Colleen Shillady

 

REVIEW OF LAST MEETING”S MINUTES

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

Mr. Shillady presented the treasurer’s report. There are still several boys who have not remitted their camp payments. Mr. Brown will proceed with legal steps to resolve the Reifsnyder issue. A certified letter will be sent to the household by Ms. Honer.

 

FOLLOW-UP

Mr. Brown reported that the DARE program through Wernersville Police Dept. will be coming to our 6/27/05 Pack meeting. We will be unable to use the school because there is no custodial staff available in the summer months. It was decided by the committee to host the meeting at South Heidelberg Park at 6:30. If there is bad weather the meeting will be moved.

 

SCHEDULE REVIEW

Summer Camp- Mrs. Granus reported that there are 29 campers scheduled to attend day camp the week of July 11th-July 15th.  The committee is working on setting up transportation for the daily trek. Mr. Swartz will be calling the BCIU to check on the possibility of a bus. More to follow. 

 

Campers will meet at CW East at 7:45 A.M. daily

Campers will return at 4:00P.M.  

Please pack a lunch

 

Mrs. Patti- will setting up advanced swim checks for all campers. The tentative date will be Tuesday, June 28th from 6-8 at Bethany’s Children’s Home.

 

Weeblos Extended Day Camp will be August 14th – August 16th

 

The Carwash has been cancelled. The committee decided that there were enough events scheduled for the summer and many members have vacations planned.

 

Mr. Shillady updated the committee on the website. It is up and running and now includes Pack 459 schedules, agendas and photos. Mr. Brown will make an announcement about the website at the June 27th pack meeting.

 

Mr. Brown and Pastor Diefenderfer expressed their thanks to all Scouts and their families for their help in the cleaning of the Church parking lot and running of stands for the Strawberry Festival.

 

Ms. Honer said she will continue to ask for volunteers to help with pack and den events. An event sign-up sheet will be available for parents to volunteer.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

June 20th is the Council Program Launch. Mr. Brown and Mr. Shillady will attend to represent our Pack.

 

Ms. Honer is waiting for a reply from Straussburg Railroad for a date for the Pack to schedule a visit. This event will probably be scheduled in Mid-October

 

Volunteers to help organize the Pool Party for August 7th are needed. A signup sheet will be available at the June 27th Pack Meeting

 

Chris Gantner, the Cubmaster of Pack 457 in Robesonia, will be meeting with Council to coordinate our “Scout Night”. Mr. Brown will be in contact with him and let the Pack know when that event will be scheduled.

 

Ms. Honer made the suggestion of changing the Annual Planning Meeting from August 1st to August 8th. The Committee decided to change the meeting to this new date. It will be at Ozgood’s Restaurant at 6:30. Food will be sponsored by Pack.  All parents who will attend should RSVP to ensure that we reserve enough space.

 

It was discussed that there may be need for another Den Leader for Den 5 due to growth. This will be discussed in more detail at the next committee meeting.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 8:20.
