Mike Brown; Dwight Harding; Dennis Swartz; Joi Honer; Leanne Granus; Gloria Troup; Joyce Miller; Shaun Shillady; Colleen Shillady
Treasurer’s Report – Mr. Shillady presented the treasurer’s report. He explained that the format has changed slightly to make the information a little easier to understand. The only outstanding expense is a reimbursement to Mr. Shillady for a cash payment to the District Trainer for a recent training event. It was suggested that all transactions should be recorded, regardless of their nature. It is reported that there is enough funds to offer at least one free “field trip” in the future.
There is an outstanding debt to the Pack of $500 from Mr. Reifsnyder. Mr. Brown will be calling on Mr.s Reifsnyder one last time in an effort to settle this debt. If he cannot obtain the funds, it is agreed that Mr. Brown will contact the DA to file charges.
Re-Chartering Review – The re-chartering is complete and all but three or four boys have paid to re-charter. The Pack is officially set at 43 registered boys.
Homestead Picnic/Tour– There will be a picnic/tour of the Conrad Weser Homestead on April 23rd at 2:30. It will be brown bag. There will be no cost for this event.
Health Fair – The Mayor of Wernersville requested that we have a stand at the first annual Wernersville Health Fair to be held on Aril 16th, at the Wernersville Fire Company. Mr. Shillady will man the stand from 10AM til noon. He will put out an email requesting another leader to man the stand with additional boys from noon til 2:00PM.
Armed Forces Day Parade – Our Pack will participate in the parade on May 21st. Mr Brown is handling the details. There is a conflict with Football suit-ups, and Mr. Shillady will call Coach Luckenbill to arrange a separate time for uniform suit-up for those affected.
Summer Camp – Most of the deposits were paid at re-chartering night. Mrs. Granus has developed a schedule for the next, then final payment.
The pack meeting after Super Cub weekend may be a problem due to the number of boys attending SC weekend. This meeting might be changed. One possibility is that Mr. Brown will investigate the alternative of a meeting with a Geology theme from the CAAS, possibly in June.
Mrs. Honer reported on information she collected regarding Cub programs offered at the Philadelphia Zoo. This is suggested as a possibility for the future. She will look into attending a program in Sept. or Oct. to earn a badge.
December Pack Meeting - Mrs. Granus reports that Santa is scheduled for December 19th.
Super Cub Weekend– At last year’s event, none of the members of our Pack were in the same campsite. Mrs. Granus will see if, at this year’s event, we can keep the Pack together
Mr. Swartz- suggested looking into DARE program through Wernersville Police Dept. for the boys
- Ms. Honer is proposing the job of Coordinator of Activities. Any parent interested in taking on this role should let her know. The job would consist of researching and booking places for field trips.
- At rechartering, Council regulations made it necessary to list an assistant cubmaster. Since Mr. Harding is registered as a leader, we listed him. At tonight’s meeting, he was introduced as our pack’s new Assistant Cub Master.
- Mr. Swartz will look into getting bus for Day Camp.
- Ms. Honer is looking into programs at Camp MACK in Newmanstown-possibly available for Pack to camp overnight
- Ms. Honer is also looking into the possibility of a trip to the Strausstown Railroad
Meeting was adjourned at 8:26
