Committee Meeting

Minutes for January 17,2005

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:09 pm by Gretchen Patti.

Those present included:

            David Christensen

            Mary Beth Eshbach

            Gretchen Patti

            Ellen Phillips

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Treasurer’s (Heike Beavans) report was handed out and was reviewed by the committee. Mary Beth Eshbach will write a thank you note to the church for donation to the PACK.  The note will mention that the donation will help pay for bus transportation for Summer Camp.  Note to come from Shaun Shillady.

 

 

Past Events:  Pop corn sales were discussed.  It was decided to split the profits 50% PACK and 50% individual cub scouts.

 

The December awards night was discussed.  It was decided to continue this event.

 

Upcoming Event: 

Scout Sunday-  To be January 30, 2005.  It was decided to encourage all cub scouts to attend by Den leaders and Scout Master to make personal phone calls and e-mails.

 

Pinewood Derby-  Gretchen Patti to be in charge of snack bar and will use tickets to keep track of free hot dog and drink for the cubs.  Tickets to be given out at registration.

 

Location of the event was discussed.  Dave Christensen to check with Mrs. Hassler at CW East and check on facility use request for Blue and Gold Banquet that was originally turned into middle school.

 

This year presentations skits and awards will be done first then dinner will be served.  Den 5 to do opening and closing ceremony.

 

Mary Beth Esbach reported on the Blue/Gold committee work.  It was decided to invite past Den Masters and that meal price will remain the same as last year.

 

Future Meetings:  Pack/Den meetings will be January 24, 2005.  Den 4 to do opening ceremony.

 

New Business:  It was announced that Heike Beavans has resigned.  Her resignation was accepted with regrets.  Heike will continue doing treasurers report until someone new is found.

 

The meeting times and place of den and den/pack meetings was discussed. It was decided to discuss this topic again in the spring so that if a change is to take place, it will be well in advance of the August planning meeting.

 

Pastor Diefenderfer discussed with the committee his role in working with the boys on God and Country awards.  He is willing to set up meetings with the boys to help and encourage this award.

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.

 

Next Committee meeting to be February 14, 2005 at 7:00 pm, Trinity Lutheran Church.
