Minutes for September 23, 2004, Committee Meeting

 

Meeting was called to order at 8:04 pm by Chair-person, Dr. Chris Rumpf.

Those present included: Chris Rumpf

David Christensen Leanne Granus Heike Beavens Gretchen Patti Joyce Miller Ellen Phillips Shaun Shillady

Minutes of the August 2, 2004 Committee Meeting were reviewed by Chris Rumpf for the benefit of the new members that were not in attendance at the last meeting.

Shaun Shillady will send the committee's comments about this past summers day camp to the appropriate scout personnel on the form provided. Chris Rumpf explained "lock in" outings.

 

Shaun Shillady stated that he disagreed with rotation plans of Den Leaders to arrange for Pack meeting programs. It was agreed that the Pack meeting programs were the responsibility of the Cub Master. There was no further discussion on this matter. (Gretchen Patti has already arranged the program for September 27th Pack Meeting). The minutes were accepted by consensus.

 

Treasurer's Report: The report for August 2004 was presented by Pack treasurer, Heike Beavans. The Pack operating fund balance as of 9/20/04 is $907.99. The $250.00 cost of the Day Camp bus remains to be paid. Treasurer Beavans also handed out an accounting of all monies collected and all amounts paid out for last year. She also distributed a balance sheet showing all the individual scouts fund balances.

 

Gretchen Patti pointed out that Bethany has not yet been paid the agreed upon donation for the use of the pool for our past two summer swim parties. The treasurer will write a check covering all monies due and Chair-person, Rumpf will include a thank you note.

 

Shaun Shillady suggested that a car wash would be a good quick money maker for the pack.

Shaun said he would plan Pack programs around Den activities if the Den leaders would let him know ahead of time what those would be.

 

Chair person Rumpf distributed and discussed the annual calendar as was outlined at the committee meeting of August 2, 2004.

 

The Middle Creek hike for October 11th was called off due to the park being closed on that day.

Chair-person, Chris Rumpf and Scout Master, Shaun Shillady explained the function and advantages of the planned Round Table meetings.

 

Joyce Miller agreed to check if Trexler Game Reserve will be available to us for November 20, 2004.

Chris Rumpf will ask Julie Borelli to look into the use of the Reading Museum also for November 20, 2004.

The Calendar was reviewed through February 2005 when the meeting was adjourned at 9:00pm due to the closing down of the school.

 

The next Committee Meeting will be October 18, 2004, 7:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
