Gemdog
Aka Louise Ciddor.  Currently the Cub Scout Leader at 1st Gembrook Scout Group, Victoria, Australia.  She started as a Cub Instructor in 1978 at 11th Camberwell Central Scout Group and moved to Gembrook in 1986.
Louise is a qualified PLA and is on the Yarra Valley Region Training Team and assists on Branch Advanced Level Training Courses.
Louise has an ability to put fantasy and imagination into her Pack Programmes.  Her team of Leaders in her Pack are able to come up with wild suggestions and Louise can make them become a reality.  "Team work is so important.  I dont see myself as The Boss.  We all make decisions and all feel equal in running the Pack.  We all see each other socially as we have become such good friends and enjoy each others company.  I rarely have trouble finding Leaders for my Pack because we are seen to be having as much fun as the kids.  My ultimate goal is to have a waiting list for Leaders to join my Pack."  It makes her Pack one of the strongest in the Sherbrooke Forest District with a constant 3 year waiting list.  Louises' own two children are too young to join her Gembrook Pack.
Louise is an Activity Base Leader on the 2002 Victorian Cuboree.  Dont miss her Activity - Water World
"I have known Scouting all my life - it's a part of me.  My close friends are all Scouting people and through the chat room, I have expanded on that further.  I have some very close online friends, some of whom I have never met - yet!  I have so many years of experience, I can't just bottle it up inside me.  I want to be able to pass on my ideas and techniques to others, which is why I was so pleased to be invited to join the Training Team and why I set up this chat room.  Networking is very important for sourcing information.  I have learned so much."

mamawolf

Aka Jane Taylor.  I started as a Leader when my son went into Cub Scouts from Joey Scouts and they were in desperate need for a Leader.  I had been a Leader for 4 years back when I was 17, then left to have my family.

I am the Akela for 1st East Bendigo Cub Scout Pack. I have been in Scouting since 1995 and love every minute of it.

I have gone through with my Advanced Training and have my Woodbeads.  I have also done the Campfire Leaders Course and First Aid training.

We have heaps of fun in the Cub Pack with getting out and about, Pack Holidays, sleep overs, camping under canvas and attend the large events like Cuboree.  We also like to try and mix with other Packs as much as possible.

My whole family is involved with Scouting in some way and we also run the local Scout Camp.  I think what I like about Scouting is the wonderful friendships that you make with people you either train with or meet at different activities.

Khani
Aka Julie McKay.   I started as a parent helper in January 1998.  I had no prior involvement in Scouting before this. At the time my daughter, Lisa, was in Cubs, my oldest son, Bradley was in Scouts and my younger son, Keven, was in Joeys.  In June, Lisa was invested into Scouts and Keven started linking to Cubs.  In July I was invested as a Cub Scout Leader on the same night
that Keven was invested into cubs.  It was a very special experience.

In April 1999, I completed Basic Training and had a great time and met lots of really nice people.  In November 1999 I did my Advnaced Training at Gilwell Park. I was presented with my woodbeads in July 2000. It was made more special for me because my three children were there to watch the presentation in uniform.

I am Akela at 1st Mooroolbark Scout Group.  My pack name is Khaniwarra, which means man sitting by a billabong, hence the name khani. I am having a great time being a Leader and love doing things with Cubs. Keven will be linking to Scouts later this year but I will
stay with Cubs. I love the Cub age group.

We have regular Pack Holidays, usually with other packs which are a lot of fun. We recently went on a District Pack Holiday to Portsea.  I went to the 2nd Victorian Cuboree and in January this year I was fortunate enough to attend my first Scout Jamboree in Sydney.  We have done a few joint meetings where we have met up with different Packs.  One of these was in December last year between our Pack and 1st East Bendigo (mamawolf's pack).  We met at scienceworks and because of this meeting, Jane and I are now very
good friends. This friendship only happened because of #pack3783.  We started talking in the room early last year and found we had lots in common and wanted to meet each other.  Scienceworks seemed like a nice
neutral place to meet and all the Leaders and Cubs got on exceptionally well.  We have organised another joint meeting to the aquarium in June for our two Packs.

The thing I like most about Scouting is that when you are with a group of Scouting people, whether camping or training, you always have something in common and most people I know are more than happy to share
their experience and knowledge. It is great to know there is always someone there to help you when you need it.
