Dear Wolf Cub Families!

CAMPING WAS SWELL!:

What a fun camping trip!  Beautiful fall foliage, sunny skies by day, a little rain by night for drama, campfire songs, s'mores, and loads of knot-tying, compass using, fire building, kick ball kicking' fun.  Whew! Thanks to everyone for so willingly sharing of your time and talents!

If you have any suggestions, comments, ideas, feedback for the next camping trip (probably in the Spring) PLEASE, PLEASE take a few moments to share them with me (email/phone/carrier pigeon-whatever.)

DEN MEETING:

As you know, this Saturday is Veteran's Day.  We will be meeting at the State Capital for the Veteran's Day parade.  This is going to be a small parade.  It is supposed to start at 10:00 am from the instersection of Wilmington and Peace Street and then proceed up Salisbury Street to the State Capital.  There is a wreath-laying ceremony and then some speeches (we'll be sure to leave before those start up) After that, we would like to head to the NC Museum of History (just across the street from the Capital) for a brief visit. I aniticpate that we will be done by 12:00 noon.

Let's plan on meeting at 9:30 am at the State Capital, in front of the momument to the Confederate dead.  This is the large, pillar monument with the soldier on top.  It faces Salisbury street. We can take a few moments to   look at some of the war memorials at the Capital and then we can move down the street to see the parade.  Please wear your uniform.

I will be more than happy to drive some boys in my car if any of you would like to sit this one out.

Please email me back and let me know if you will or will not be coming.
If your son is coming, please let me know if he needs a ride.

This will be our last den meeting for the month of November. We will not have another den meeting until Thursday, December 7, 2000.

PACK MEETING:

The next pack meeting will be on Friday, November 17, 2000.  This meeting will be held at the St. Andrews Activity Center which is UPSTAIRS from the fellowship hall.  This location change will apply to this meeting only.

This will be our Thanksgiving program.  We are still working on the program.
One thing I do know is that each boy will be asked to bring several canned items that will be donated to the NC Food Bank on behalf of the pack.

POPCORN:

Popcorn should be coming in soon.  The Schmidts will contact folks about picking up their corn.

BIRDHOUSES:

Who still needs a birdhouse kit?

Don't forget to let me know about Saturday!

Yours in Scouting;
Naomi M. Tsujimura
