Below is a list of open positions we have open, most of the positions do NOT require any special training they only require a little bit of your time. Scout Master: The scout master is one of the most time consuming positions we have. The scout master position requires some training it also requires you to attend district meetings with other scout masters from our district. As sout master you will run the monthly pack meeting and work closely with the den leader, assistant scout master and the committee chair person. It is important that the scout master attend the monthly committee meeting. Our current scout master (Jeff) will be moving on up to Boy Scouts next year with his son. You can work with Jeff this year to learn the ropes. He has some big shoes to fill but without a scout master we would not have cub scouting. this positions requires around 5-6 hours a month.
Assistant Scout Master: The assistant scout master position requires some training and you will have to attend some district meetings. The assistant scout master will work closely with the scout master and help run the monthly pack meetings. The assistant scout master will be required to attend a monthly committee meeting. This position requires around 3-4 hours a month.
Secretary: There is no training required to be the secretary for our pack. This position involves 1-2 hours of your time a month. The secretary will need to attend the monthly committee meeting and take minutes from the meeting then distribute the minutes to the Den leaders and Committee members.
Public Relations: As the P.R person you will attend the Montly committee and Pack meetings and take pictures and write up short blurbs for the local papers. This position does not require any special training and if you don't have a camera thats not a problem you can borrow mine. This position will require about 2-3 hours of your time a month.
Bottle Shed Coordinator: The bottle shed is one of our biggest sources of income. The bottle shed is located at the Middleton Transfer station. On designated months our dens take turns emptying the bottles shed. As bottle shed coordinator you are not required to go through any training nor do you have to attend any meetings although we would love to see you at the committee meeting : o)~~~. You will be responsible for scheduling the dens on a rotating schedule to clean out the shed and you will also be responsible for keeping the bottle shed supplied (bags, boxes). This position requires less then an 1 hour a month.
Training coordinator: Now this is a great position. It requires no training on your part your only responsible to find out when training is and keep track of who has what training. Although we would like you to attend the Monthly Committee meetings you could forward on your information to the secretary and the secretary will put it into her minutes. This position involves less then 1 hour a month.
Camping coordinator: Hate to camp? Don't own a tent or sleeping bag? NO problem!! your responsibilities would include scheduling over night camping trips for the pack and other over night activities. You don't have to attend the monthly Committee meetings although we really would love to have you there.
Activities Director: There is no training required for this position. The activities director will be responsible for coordinating the pack meeting activities with the den leader, scout master and committee chair person. The activities director will also be responsible for the snack, juice and coffee at each pack meeting. Currently our Treasure Jean does this job along with her responsibilities so lets give her some help. You will be required to attend the Monthly Pack and Committee meetings.
