Meet @ Sinclair Elementary @ 0930. George will assign pick-ups and everyone will meet back at Sinclair when they are finished!

Contact George for further info.

Scouting's "Good Turn" to the community.

Once again the Scouts and leaders of the National Capital Area Council will hit the streets nearly 70,000 strong in support of Scouting for Food. The mission of the project is to have Scouts participate in the collection of food items to be given to needy people and families within the communities of the council.

This year's Scouting for Food drive looks to be our most successful ever!

George will handing out collection bags at the next Den meetings on October 22nd.

WUSA TV Channel 9

has again come on board to help advertise Scouting for Food. This year Channel 9's Food Drive 9 and Scouting for Food will be working together. The Channel 9 news team will be featuring Scouting for Food starting November 3rd through November 15th. They will be running daily news mentions on the 9 AM and noon broadcasts as well as the weekend AM broadcasts. Channel 9 is also providing full screen billboards, reminding viewers of the bag drop-off date of November 8th and the collection date of November 15th, 2003.

Units need to mark their program calendars for two Saturdays in November for this project. November 8th, 2003 will be the "distribution day" and November 15th, 2003 will be the "pick-up day". Bag distribution will be at the October Roundtables.

Special thanks to Safeway for again providing all of the bags used in the Scouting for Food drive. Their support remains invaluable.

The goal is to have 100% participation from all units in this most important outreach to our communities. Two important dates to remember:
November 8, 2003 for distribution day and
November 15, 2003 for pick-up day.
