Desist and the old Guardians, the Snake unit, boarded one jet. The rest, Fire unit, boarded the other jet. The Snake unit developed engine troubles and diverted to a landing site, but Fire unit made contact with the base and landed at the hanger. The Qman made initial contact with the two knights, but seemed disoriented. The knights themselves were stiff and unresponsive. As they led us to the 'Strasha entity', Quiasar jumped up on top of the hanger and spotted an ambush.
Shadow Knight and Entropy confront the ambushers and are fired upon. SK is hit hard and retreats with Entropy into darkness. Entropy downs the Dragon with Firemyst's help. Additional attackers arrive and the Guardians split off to engage them. WL fights one Strasha android, as does Croc. The camp analyst tries to help Croc with his deep rooted hostility, but Croc only lashes out.
In the main battle, FS, Entropy, SK, and the Qman battle the Knights and Snowball while Firemyst holds off Backfire and Cold Warrior. His position is overrun, and Cold Warrior joined the attack against Croc. Backfire goes against the Qman. A knight goes down, but Backfire knocks out Q. A wounded Flaming Star retreats but is gunned down by a knight. Momentum goes against the Guardians as Backfire joins the fight against White Leopard.
Entropy shoots down the second knight and SK revives Q. A teamup against Snowball goes awry as Shadow Knight and Flaming Star fire early at the wrong target. Entropy and Quiasar pull off a miracle. Entropy blasts a .00001 millimeter hole in Snowball's armor and Qman fires his blast through the hole. Backfire and Cold Warrior retreat as one of the androids fall. The Guardians teamup to destroy the second android. Regrettably, several opponents escaped during the fight.
Shadow Knight detects a barrier protecting the control panel. Entropy fires at the force field but is unable to penetrate. Under heavy attack, Entropy falls back. Quiasar, searching for an opening, is downed by dragon. The fight outside is even as SK rescues Quiasar. A gangup on heater fails, and Crocodile is briefly downed by Dragon. With the tide starting to flow against the Guardians, C4 strikes against the forcefield. The fiery inferno knocks out the missile control and fries dragon. Quiasar is forced to maintain the forcefield to keep the now activated Procista contained.
The true Strasha seriously injures Croc, who is rescued by Quiasar. Heater is downed, but he pops right back up. Backfire proves vulnerable to Shadow Knights vibration power. Flaming Star ignites Quasar's special flame liquid in the tunnel, keeping the pressure on the procista. The fight continues to flux as opponents switch off. Backfire and Flaming Star fall. Quiasar finally pushes the slime back into the fire, where it is destroyed. The Guardians retreat back to the complex. Only Firemyst remains, confident of escape when necessary. He is flanked and knocked out.
The Guardians wait and are reinforced by the old Guardians, minus the possessed Action Man. The teams launch an attack on the remaining missiles. Backfire, a Strasha android, and Heater make a futile attempt to stop the destruction. A search is instituted to find Strasha and Snowblind. Shadow Knight does the job with his darkness, and the final battle is launched. Numbers prove dominant and the Guardians are victorious. Firemyst, however, is never found. The mystery continues.
Followup:
A quarantine proved all Guardians were free of the virus. Crocodile recovers, but Flaming Star remains in a coma. The Procista threat may not be ended, but at the very least it is gone for several years. Cold Warrior and Snowball remain at large. They may or may not return to service for the Russians. We may never know.
Conclusions:
The initial attack was excellent. Tactics were sound, results were good. Analysis shows that we were minutes away from world destruction, so our decision to attack was proven correct. However, it may have been better to teamup on the androids instead of splitting our forces. A scorched earth policy may have minimized our losses. However, it was mainly a case of going against top flight opponents. Flaming Star and Crocodile made no errors leading to their injuries. Firemyst cannot be criticized, if only because he did not survive his mistake. Special commendations go to White Leopard and Quiasar. The MVG goes to the big hitter, the destroyer of slime, the mighty Q-man.
