In less than a minute SK walked into the bridge. He gave us all a big smile as he walked towards his station. We all felt uneasy. We had been boarded by an unknown NTL and Shadow Knight was acting, well, nice!. As he walked by DD, he suddenly let loose with a massive blow. Desist let the momentum carry him backward, even though his armor absorbed the impact. I called out for people to be careful where they fired on the bridge. I myself took care before firing, my miss took out nothing of importance.
Quiasar answered the question that was on all of our mind when he used the comdot to talk to SK, the real Shadow Knight. Before long, SK joined us on the bridge, using his darkness as cover. Unfortunately, he took little care in his firing, as his shots destroyed computers and ship components. Realizing that I had no real chance of hitting this creature, I backed slowly to my bo, which at least won't threaten the ship. Before I reached it, Sindar grabbed my bo. He had already taken Croc's rod and used it. I understand his frustration. Flaming on in the narrow confines of the bridge was more dangerous to us than the creature. Still, his efforts earned him destruction as the slime wiped him out with a single blow.
The snake scored on the creature. Desist followed up by ordering it to leave. The creature, however, did not move. Its rage had decreased, however. Several attacks were hitting the creature. I never really came close. Since the creature was partially embedded in the main computer, I had to swing carefully. I tried to keep its attention, dodging to avoid its infrequent attacks. The Guardians were clearly in control, pounding the creature without effort. Then came disaster. The creature belatedly obeyed Desist, leaving the ship. Once out of range of Desist's power, it came back with a vengeance.
It caught the Qman by surprise and knocked him down. I got in my second hit of the night, whacking him hard. Desist used his mental powers again, this time ordering to solidify. It did, hitting back at Desist as it did so. With it solid, I drew the War blaster and opened fire. The creature was getting weaker, though it was still able to crush the cobra, splintering the rod. Quiasar got back on his feet and the Guardians teamed up to crush the creature. A difficult battle, but one never truly in doubt.
Followup and Conclusions Space is a dangerous place.
