During this conversation, security alarms signaled an intrusion into the base. Six paranormals appeared by some sort of teleportation into the lab. Shadow Knight and Quiasar recognized some of the intruders, but the Guardians were attacked before any communication could be established.
The Guardians fought back, but even with the aid of Unknown Warrior and Plasma Ranger, were swiftly put at a disadvantage. Quiasar was smashed by SuperSonic, Crocodile was sliced by Sabredance, and Devilspawn hit a group of defenders with a spell. The first large break of the battle went to the Guardians, as Albatross took out Oblivion, a hitherto invisible member of the attackers, with his rampaging hurricane.
The battle remained a stalemate for some time. After repeatedly blasting Sabredance, Plasma Ranger fell to a lucky blow from SuperSonic. The Guardians successfully retaliated as Shadow Knight finished off Sabredance with a massive vibration blast. When Entropy finally downed the resilient Albatross, the Guardians had the advantage. Opponent swapping ended and the fight settled down.
Entropy took on SuperSonic, with Shadow Knight pounding her from behind. Quiasar handled Devilspawn, while Crocodile and UW, hampered by spells, tag teamed Sequoia. Surprisingly, the battle is equal. SuperSonic is staggered, but Entropy, already weakened by Albatross and Sabredance, also tires. Crocodile and UW are barely able to keep Sequoia's interest. The battle hinges on the Q-man. Twice Devilspawn launches her mightiest attack, only to see Quiasar laugh it off. His answering shots are precise, but lack force. Finally she overwhelms his resistance. Plunging him into a fiery inferno of agony, she demands his true identity. Even in excruciating pain, Quiasar refuses to falter. "Rumplestiltskin", he replies, and blasts her straight and true.
The Guardians advantage is lost again when Sequoia proves he wood be able to handle Croc in a treed and true manner. Firefall, Sequoia, and SuperSonic team up on Entropy, but he remains standing. SuperSonic destroys Entropy's rifle, but she is staggered badly by Shadow Knight and Quiasar. Foreseeing defeat, she calls for a truce. After extensive negotiation, with the aid of Plasma Ranger, a compromise is formed. The Guardians agree not to press charges for the attack but the attackers are turned over to the authorities to answer for other crimes. The Guardians turn over Cadair to the authorities and SuperSonic agrees to urge Devilspawn to change Croc back. As much as possible, the attackers will pay for the damages done to Guardian headquarters.
Follow-up file: The integrity of the secret headquarters is in doubt. Damage to the lab is extensive. Fortunately, the bargain worked out enough for Croc to be restored. We should work on changing SuperSonics allegiance. UW performed adequately, and was processed as a probation member wishing part time status.
The chances are against meeting this group in combat again, but if so, Devilspawn should be the primary target in battle
