I felt pretty lucky when I drove into Pine Grove to find the lunch installment of the Mt. Hood Railrod's dinner train pulling into the siding just in time to meet the regular passenger train coming up from Hood River. The entire (at that time) MHRR roster is represented in this photo: ex-SP GP9 88 is leading the Parkdale-bound excursion train, while ex-MILW GP9 89 is on the point of the dinner train, which is on its way back to Hood River on a round trip to Parkdale.
