A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK

Even though I tried very hard as a modern parent not to
mold my children’s personality, they turned out to be very much like my husband
and me. Not only that, they also
followed the gender difference—my daughter is more like me and my son is more
like my husband.
My
husband is a very intense person who focuses on whatever he is doing at
hand. As a result, he doesn’t notice
his surroundings very well. He is
hopeless when it comes to looking for anything in the kitchen or in the
cabinets. My son takes after his dad
and is just as hopeless. In our family,
we never send these two guys to look for a pair of scissors, nor a can of coke.
My daughter, on the other hand, took after me. She is very aware of her environments,
especially the emotions of people, so she is very good at communicating with
people in the right way and at the right moment. However, she is also easily distracted by
her surroundings.
In any case, it is great joy of see
some of myself and some of my husband in our children. This is probably the highest reward of
parenting.
