December 19th 1999 - NEC, Birmingham.
HELEN JORDAN ,AGE 18, BIRMINGHAM
This was a big occasion for me as it was my first and maybe only Madness concert. I'd been wanting to go to one for years and as this one was 10 mins from my home, it was most appropriate.
I'm not going to be mean, but I really didn't enjoy the support act. Way too long as well!!! When Madness finally appeared, I was swept away with the great mass of nutty energy created by both the band and the fans. I don't think I stopped dancing on the spot all night, even between the encores. I'm personally glad that Driving in my Car wasn't played but I wish Michael Caine had been!!!
Great concert, we fans need more. Who agrees?!!!
December 15th 1999- Cardiff Black Cat, 15
Me and my sister have been huge fans of Madness since their comeback in the 90's. We went to see them in Cardiff. It was the most magical feeling taht I have ever felt when they came on stage. Through nerves, I did not feel up to dancing all night. Looking like a complete idiot, Suggs noticed me and started grinning! Yes, I do agree that there should be more gigs because they are my life.
5/1/99 - 9.30 club, Washington D.C
Nina Bunn
My very first and probably the only Madness concert. I was totally swept up in the nuttiness of it all. I took my children also, who at the time were 17 and 20 years of age; the only madness experience they had was from MTV videos back in the early 80's. They were literally captivated by the band and since we had the luxery of being front and center we could actually feel the excitement and the craziness of it all. It is truly a night i will not forget.
