I opened my eyes, I found Pacey watching me. I sat straight up in bed, I was still in Andie room; I pulled her sheets up so they were covering my chest.
What are you doing here?
I could ask you the same thing! I challenged back.
I got a call this morning, apparently your mother is very worried about you, after you ran out, last night! Pacey voice wasnt one I could read; I figured I would find you here!
I needed to get away from my life, ok! I said glaring at him.
What happened?
Nothing! I looked away from him, and around her. It was typical girls room, pink wallpaper, ribbons and candles everywhere.
Its not nothing! He said forcing me to talk.
How would you know, you wont even there! I narrowed my eyes at him; he didnt even looked affected by me.
Did you have a fight with your mother? He leant forward, so our faces were close.
No! I whispered, it was getting hard to breathe.
Then what? I could feel his hot breath, connect with my cheeks; I closed my eyes.
Nothing!
Joey! he was getting angry, I didnt like it.
My dads getting released next week! I opened my eyes again, when he moved to sit back normally on the chair, You happy now!
Oh, was all he could say. I bit my lip and closed my eyes again; I didnt want to think about it, talk about it.
Now you can go tell everyone, how fucked up my life is going to get! I was almost screaming at him, I could feel tries ready to break free.
He didnt say anything but moved from the chair and hugged me on the bed. I rested my head on his shoulder and hugged him back. I calmed down a little.
Im so scared! I whispered.
I know! He whispered back, I smiled and hugged him tighter. After a while he let go of me and wiped the tears from my cheeks, that had fallen, Why dont you go have a shower, and meet us down stairs for some breakfast!
Ok! I said closing my eyes when his lips made contact with my forehead, and opened them again when he got up to leave the room. I smiled a thank you to him before he left.

I arrived in the kitchen Andie was happily, dancing and singing to herself, as her and Jen made breakfast. It smelt like eggs and bacon. Jack and Pacey were laughing along with Jen as she set the table up.
Hey, your up! She said startling me, Jack and Pacey turned around to look, as they had had their backs to me. Andie stopped dancing when she saw me.
Yeah, but dont stop on my account! I said stepping forward into the kitchen, I smiled at Pacey as I sat down at the island.
Jo, dont put ideas into their heads! Jack laughed; Andie swapped him with a tea towel.
Do you want breakfast, Jackers? Jen asked placing a plate in front of Pacey then me. Jack nodded, Then shut the hell up!
I second that! Andie announced as she sat down with her plate.
Hey, I do actually live here you know! Jack defended as Jen placed his plate in front of him.
Yeah but when are you moving out? Andie giggled to herself.
Thanks Andie! Jen sat down, and we ate in almost silence.
So whats on the agenda today?
Work for me! Pacey groaned.
Well, I reckon we go down to the beach and check it out! Andie suggested, Jen eyes widen in excitement.
Perfect idea! Jen looked rather happy, We could check out the guys front while we are there! Andie giggled.
Count me out then! Jack said finishing off his plate.
Why, its right up your alley! Jen asked trying not to laugh.
Im not up to matchmaker today, and anyway Dawson and I are going to paint his sisters bedroom again today! he gulped down his orange juice.
Joey, you wanna come?
I think I will pass, I kind of have to make something up to my mother today! I played with the remaining food on my plate.
Ok, well I guess its just the two of us then! Jen said picking up Jacks and her plate and putting them in the sink. Andie went to grab Paceys but he hadnt finished and he quickly gulped down the last mouthfuls, before she took it and mine.
Looks to be! Andie said as they said goodbye and headed to go get ready upstairs, Jack did the same, leaving only Pacey and I in the room.
I better go, my mothers probably thinks Im lying in a gutter somewhere! I tried to smile, but it didnt stay for long. We both stood, looking at each other awkwardly.
You want a lift home or something? He suggested as we made an attempt for the front door.
Yeah, that would be good!

I sat down and looked across the street, I had two options. After I talked to my mother about everything this morning, she convinced me, that getting a part time job, would be a perfect way to keep my mind off things. My mother suggested the Music store, nothings wrong with helping people with their bad tastes in music! she had said, and that was meant to help me but I didnt.
I had other ideas, so as I sat on the bench I let my eyes wander over the place in front of me. It was like it was asking me for a job there, the Capeside Diner, among other things. Yet a couple of doors down where the local music store, as much as I love music, I really didnt want to listen to it and hear people complain about it. I bit my lip as I stood up; I think I had made up my mind. I crossed the street and walked in through the double doors. I looked around; the lunchtime rush must be over as the diner wasnt full of its normal lunchtime customers. I spotted Pacey leaning over the counter talking a girl behind the bar, she was laughing at something he was saying, and flipping her curly golden hair out of her face. I took a deep breath trying to compose myself as I approached them at the bar.
Pace quit acting like a dork and do your job! she was still laughing when I got closer.
I am, but as you can see there isnt any, he turned around trying to make his point and noticed me; I waved a small smile appearing on my face, people to serve!
Well here comes one now!
Hey! He grinned; I think he was quite surprised I had dropped by.
Hey, I needed to talk to you! I said smiling back, he nodded but we stood in silence for a while just watching each other.
Arent you going to introduce me to your little friend Pace? and the silence was broken and I looked over his shoulder at the girl behind the bar for the first time since I first noticed them. He turned and glared at her.
Potter this is my annoying older sister Gretchen, Gretchen this is Joey Potter, she just moved to the Cape! He said looking quite annoyed at Gretchen.
Nice to finally put a face to a name, Pacey talks no stop about you! She out stretched her hand over the bar; I stepped forward to shake it.
Really? I asked; Pacey didnt look pleased. Gretchen laughed and nodded.
So what brings you here? Pacey asked I looked over at him, forgetting what I had come for.
Huh? Gretchen laughed again.
Pace shes a keeper! she said before taking the drinks she had been making before to the table that needed them. Pacey rolled his eyes at her as she walked way.
You wanted to talk? He asked as I sat at the bar.
Oh yeah, I was looking for a job!
And you want me to put in a good word for you here? He smirked.
If its not to much trouble! I know I sound stupid, but I really did want this.
Ok, Potter, but I cant promise you anything! I jumped off the stool and hugged him.
Thank you Pace! I was so happy.
I will tell you in a couple of days ok! Pacey said as I let go.
Ok, I better go things to do you know! I said getting up, waving goodbye to him and Gretchen before leaving. At least it was a start.
